Almost a year ago on April 30th, 2014, Facebook made a sweeping change to how it's authentication and integration platform works. At that time, Facebook introduced the Graph API v2.0 which changed the authentication process, added restrictions to many permissions, changed their Javascript interface and changed how user IDs are retrieved for each user.

These changes will be applying to all Facebook Applications soon and your site may need to be updated to ensure compatibilty. Read on to learn more.

JFBConnect v6.3 is available now. This release brings over 50 new features, usability improvements and bug-fixes. The major updates include Joomla 3.4 compatibility, Yahoo integration, a new front-end method for letting users manage their social network connections, social sharing improvements and new debugging features to help narrow down issues even faster.

With JFBConnect, your website will cover authentication from more than 98% of the providers on the chart above.

Hot off the presses, JFBConnect v6.2 is now available. If you want social network integration on your site, this is the release for you. With 3 new social networks (Meetup, Amazon and WindowsLive) and over a dozen new features, including embedded Twitter posts, point rewards for social engagements, Alpha User Points and HikaShop integration, huge performance improvements and much more, there's something for everyone to like here.

For more information about the features of JFBConnect v6.2, see our preview blog post or the full changelog.

In early July, JFBConnect v6.1 was released, which added Instagram, Github and VK authentication and profile integration for Joomla, along with the new social streams and other features. Just 2 short months later, there's another release right around the corner.

JFBConnect v6.2 is scheduled for release in late September, and we wanted to give you a preview of what to expect. We've been working on hard on some highly requested features, new providers, new widgets and performance improvements. There's something here for everyone, so lets get started!

UPDATE: JFBConnect v6.2 was released in early October, 2014.

With the launch of v2.0 of the Facebook Graph API over 2 years ago, a new review process was also implemented for all Facebook Applications. The review process is Facebook's way to verify that deeper integration features on your site are abiding by Facebook's Terms of Service. There's a lot to understand about the process and some of it may surprise you. Some JFBConnect features like posting to your Facebook Page usually don't even need to go through the review process. For the features that do need review, what's the process and how do you proceed? Read our blog post to find out. https://lnkd.in/eKbiwbb
