What about required CB field?

I updated all JFBconnect stuff to the last version 3.2.2 for J 1.5 and I use also CB version 1.4..

I see you have release the CB plugin for force user to accept Terms/Conditions... Great point

I would like to know if you can tell me when more less you plan to allow us to use also CB required field in the registration process (Full Joomla user)? Actually your new version always disallow to use that field properly.. That mean if a user don't fill a required CB field, instead to get a warning or anything else for force user to fill that field, the registration process continue but the user is not enabled.

PS: Inside the Overview panel of JFBconnect is displayed in red I have installed CB plugin version 3.2.3 but is displayed also the available version is 3.2.2 only.. I miss a version or is a bug?

I apply correctly your workaround but I get no change because I'm always able to register even if some required CB select field are not filled. I don't receive any error message or warning telling I must fill field.

In practice if I don't fill those required fields the account is created but CB user is not confirmed/activated. This happen when I make required 2 select menu field.

I try to make required only one text field (for see if the problem coming from the fact select field are not well supported) and in this case if the field is not filled, I'm able to register and the user is confirmed and activated.

So in both case the workaround seem to not taking care to the fact CB fields are required an must be filled before user creation. I tested many time with Firefox and Chrome and I'm under Joomla 1.5.23 and CB 1.4... I don't have "cache enabled" and my files permissions are correctly set to 644.

Another point: I don't know if this is related but since I updated to your last JBFconnect 3.2.2, the Facebook popup app appear to me in english even if my site is configured for be in french (principal language) and german because I use Joomfish. The JFBconnect registration welcome message is correctly displayed in french but CB field label are not translated...They are displayed without language in their own string syntaxe (like _UE_MY_CBFIELD) even if my FR and DE language files contain those language string...

This issue with CB required field start to be very frustrating because without this I can't use JFBconnect. Is now several month I subscribed for this component but I never use it in production mode...

Any suggestions??

Yes I discover the Motools plugin few weeks ago but I never need to enable this because I do not know exactly what it could be used. probably this must be enabled if we get some specific problem with template or other?

You have see also the CB Info tooltip near each field don't working when we hover under the icon with the mouse. I hope you can solve this also with the new workaround..

Cool it seem now all work fine...

Few points:

- How have you fix the problem? You have modified the CB plugin and upload it from the Joomla Installer?? I don't see other explanation because I had not given FTP access..

- About Date field is not a big deal right now. In fact finally I don't plan to ask this info in CB or JFB when user register. Most people don't like give this infos and is not essential for me to get this. They can fill this field later if they want. But of course is required to solve this problem...

- About Tooltip I hope you will do your best for solve the problem. Personally I have well filled this CB Tooltip because I think is better to be transparent with users and explain why I need to get some specific data. Is probably a JS or CSS conflict. If I'm not wrong the file who manage this Tooltip is located here: /public_html/components/com_comprofiler/js/overlib_all_mini.js. Hope that help..

- About translation the registration form display now the correct language. However I don't know why the Login and Register button still always in english. I checked theJFB FR language file but no related string language is present. I suppose this button are the default one from CB and fail to be translated...

- The FB popup still always in english I don't know why. When we create the FB App we need to tell in witch language and I set this to French and my primary language on my site is also French. My browser is in French and the blue FB button display correctly his text in French... So why the popup still always in english??? The FB Like button still display also his standard message "Be the first of your friends to like this" in english...

- About setting "Automatically Link Facebook Users by Email" I set this to NO because no users will be registered before I start to use JFB. However the Login box is always displayed. It is normal?? I would like hide this useless box...
