I just tested on your 'h*****m' site. It seems like the 500 error is happening because the request isn't being properly redirected to JFBConnect.

Can you check and try disabling any other social network integration enabled on your site? We've found some other extensions, especially system plugins, will see things in the query string like 'provider=twitter' (or even just the word twitter) and try to hijack the request.

The only other suggestion is to check your servers time. It needs to be accurate or else Twitter will fail the request. Usually, that's a different error, if I recall correctly, but it doesn't hurt to check.

I hope that helps, but if not, let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

Well now, that's a truly bizarre error. We just looked through the code to try and understand how that could be happening and.. well, we can't find any logical reason off hand.

Can you go to the JFBConnect -> Configuration area and check the value you have set for "Auto Username Prefix". Then, simply hit 'Apply Changes' and try to login again. If that still fails, try changing the "Auto Username Prefix" to another setting and try again. Keep trying different settings until it works.. or doesn't... there's only 4 options there, so hopefully that doesn't take too long.

If you find that some work and others don't, please let us know which are which and we'll gladly investigate further. We're investigating the code further to understand still.. but right now.. we're perplexed. :/

Thanks,
Alex

the problem seems to produce when we use "email" in Auto Username Prefix

Yes, Twitter does allow retrieving the user's email address. However, it's an extra setting in the app you need to ensure you setup properly. Please check our Twitter Configuration guide and ensure you've followed step 7b for setting up the permissions properly.

I hope that helps, but if you need anything else or still encountering issues after double-checking that setting, just let us know.

Thanks,
Alex
