Glad you're making some progress.

Got it working but it is very flakey in the way it works and is not right, most certainly????

Can you explain what you're seeing? What is, or isn't, happening that's flaky? How are you testing and what are you expecting? More details will help us understand the behavior your seeing vs what you expect to help clarify if there's a problem or just something unclear about how things should work.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Yes, sure, I have the buttons showing up on the page that is the usual Facebook, twitter, Google+, etc on the CB Login module but the Google one does not work at all and the Facebook one, you get a pop up but it is just blank then when you close the little pop up it say's logging you in and then it log's me in via Facebook.

I also now have my Facebook channel working which is good, so at least it has me on the profiles but it is certainly not 100% right?

Now, I have removed the Tag, but it keeps logging me in even though I do not want to be logged in which is becoming rather annoying, and I do not know how to stop it !?!

Sorry for the delayed response.

It looks like you removed the login buttons, which I can understand with the issues you're having. From here, if possible, I'd recommend private messaging us admin credentials for your site so we can investigate further. You can PM me by clicking the mail icon under my picture to the left.

It would also help if you could clarify some of the other things you mentioned (in order):

I also now have my Facebook channel working which is good, so at least it has me on the profiles but it is certainly not 100% right?

Glad some features are working.. obviously, it's not perfect yet, but we can help get it all going as it should. With every combination of Joomla and other extensions, we try (and usually do) get JFBConnect to work out of the box, but sometimes issues are unavoidable.

Now, I have removed the Tag, but it keeps logging me in even though I do not want to be logged in which is becoming rather annoying, and I do not know how to stop it !?!

My guess is that you have the "Automatically Log Facebook Users In" setting enabled in the JFBConnect -> Configuration -> Facebook area. In that case, JFBConnect will try to login you in if you are logged into Facebook.com. It shouldn't keep doing it continuously though. Since you posted an error of what's happening though, that may be preventing our standard auto-login prevention from working.

Thanks for the picture. We had never heard of that error until www.sourcecoast.com/forums/jfbconnect/jf...and-jfbc#p46615]just today when another user posted a similar issue . I'm not sure what's happening there, but I'd recommend the following to narrow things down:
* Can you disable any social profile plugins you have enabled to see if that fixes the authentication issue? If so, re-enable them one by one and let me know which one causes the issue.

Again, we can test some of this stuff with admin access as well. However, we know JFBConnect really well, but don't know your site. Its always best if you can perform some tests because you know how it should, or shouldn't, behave.

Thanks,
Alex

For the SQL query error, we just got access to the other user's admin area. In there, we found that the "Custom DB" plugin was enabled, but not configured properly in the Profiles section.

If you've enabled the Custom DB plugin, please disable it, unless you are actually trying to import custom information into your database.

I hope that helps,
Alex

Thanks for the access. The SCLogin module was installed. I configured an instance of it for you, but disabled it. Please go to your module manager and re-enable it to see if you like the looks of it, and of course, feel free to update any settings as necessary. It's in position-7, just like your CB module.

As for Facebook authentication not working, the reason was that you had added some very incorrect "Additional Required Permissions" in the configuration area:

publish_actions
GET /{user-id}/permissions
DELETE /{user-id}/permissions/{permission-name}

The first one, publish_actions, is valid, but unless you're doing some custom programming, you shouldn't need to add that on your own. JFBConnect will determine if you've configured things that need the publish_action permission and will request it if necessary. The 2nd two are just wrong. I'm not sure what you were trying to do there, but it's what was preventing authentication from working.

I deleted all the permissions in that box and Facebook login now works as I'd expect.

I hope that helps, but please test and let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks,
Alex

But thank you so much!!!

No problem. It's what we're here for. If you run into any issues or have any questions, just let me know.

Finally, when you do get everything setup, we hope you'll consider leaving a rating and review for JFBConnect, or our support, on the Joomla Extension Directory. It certainly isn't required, but is very appreciated:
