We're excited too! Getting our ducks in a row for the release now, and it will be installed on this site soon to put it through it's paces for a few days to make sure there isn't anything our automated and beta testing missed.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,
Congrats on the progress. Just a clarification on something you said: "The v5.1.2 release doesn't have specific EasySocial integration." You say avatars, profiles etc. won't be imported. Is this a JFBconnect or EasySocial issue you are referring to?

How does this compare to where you are with JomSocial?

Do you have plans for a specific integration with EasySocial in a future release?

I'm holding off till next year to make the switch to EasySocial, and I'm hoping that setting up EasySocial will be really easy. Appreciate any clarification.

The v5.1.2 release is the version that's been out for about 2 months now. It was released before EasySocial was even available, so there is no support for importing into their profiles.

The v5.2 release (yes, versions can get confusing), due out tomorrow, *will* support avatars, profiles, new registration flow, and more.

In general, the JomSocial and EasySocial profile integration will be just about the same. There are some minor differences, and JomSocial integration probably has slightly more features in v5.2. They'll be inline as best as possible in short order. The only thing we won't support for EasySocial in the v5.2 release is Open Graph actions. There's some technical reasons for that, and we will be chatting with Mark at the Joomla World Conference to work those out this weekend.

Thanks,
Alex

Has any documentation been created yet about the best way to use JFBConnect with EasySocial. I am assuming I should turn OFF their facebook login and then turn on all your social network logins.

I am also if it is recommended that we use your like and comment tools or just use theirs?

Thanks, Sean

Correct, turn off their Facebook Login functionality for the best results and to prevent conflicts. For adding our social buttons to EasySocial, please see our EasySocial social network integration guide .

I am also if it is recommended that we use your like and comment tools or just use theirs?

Right now, you should be able to use their Like and Comment features if you'd like. Of course, you can use ours instead, but they don't automatically add to specific areas of EasySocial like their built-in integration does.

I hope that helps, but should you have any other questions or run into any issues, just let me know!

Thanks,
Alex

Yes, very helpful.

Currently I have logins for Joomla, EasySocial and EasyDiscuss. I am wanting to use your solution for all of them. Do I need to install SC Login and then somehow let all the other applications know to use SC Login? Or, will I have to live with multiple login screens showing on my site?

Thanks, Sean

Sean,
The SCLogin module is just that, a module. It's not something that can be redirected to or shown when a user tries to access a registered area of your site.

However, the with JFBConnect, you can automatically have the social buttons added to the standard Joomla login area so that the same features as the SCLogin module are available (Joomla, Facebook, Google+, Twitter and LinkedIn login) are all available on the same page.

If there's something else you're looking for, or any suggestions you have for improvement, just let me know!

Thanks,
Alex
