Thanks ... your rights have been set ... as you know this is a live production site ;-) I do have a dev site if that is better for your testing ... it is under the same domain on the same server ...

Thanks very much!!!

Mark,
I just got in to test a little bit, and yes, if you have a development site, we'd much prefer to use that. I tried a few things on your live site, and would have no problem testing some other things, but they become a little more visible to other users. Nothing that should cause problems, but if we have a little more flexibility on the dev site, great!

Thanks, and I think we'll be able to come up with something to fix your situation pretty quickly, which we can either implement on the live site, or document well enough for you to do as well.

Thanks!

Mark,
Thanks for access to your dev site, that really helped us narrow down the issue. There was a problem with our JomSocial profile plugin and JomSocial 2.2. I fixed it on your site, and we'll be releasing an updated version of the plugin soon.

I made the change on your live site as well. Please test, and let us know if you run into any other issues.

Thanks for your patience in the matter, and good luck!

Thank you VERY much! I really appreciate your efforts and the level of support you provide for your product! I wish everyone I purchase support from was as dedicated and good as you are!

I have noticed two additional items .. when logged in the avatar does not show in JomSocial. It is there when logged out and it is there in your login module when logged in ... (Just tested on the dev site and the avatars ARE displaying correctly there)

and I see this in the activity list: a guest I just joined SourceCoast. Home of the best Facebook Connect and Joomla integration component, JFBConnect.

is there a wall posting that will happen on my site every time someone joins your site?

Thanks again!

Mark

The activity stream shows that because it's my last wall post that was on Facebook. That has nothing to do with us or promotion, I was using our test Facebook account, and the last thing I did, before registering on your site, was log in here. We don't have any hidden messages or sneaky things like that. If you don't want the user's last Facebook wall post to be imported, you can turn that off.

Regarding the avatar, let us do some more testing with JomSocial 2.2. We tested with it immediately when it came out, and everything worked fine. However, we're realizing there are a few configuration settings that have bigger effects than we expected, and need to account for those in our profile plugin. Hopefully, the avatar issue is easy to recreate for us and put out another plugin release today/tomorrow.

As for the support, no problem. It's what we do, and thank you for your subscription. If you'd like to go the extra mile, we'd love a review on the Joomla Extension Directory. It's certainly not required, but very appreciated:

Thanks, and we'll keep you posted on what we find with the avatar!

Just checking to see if you were able to find the reason the avatar doesn't display? If I clear my cache, then upload a new avatar, then go back and log into my site the avatar comes over. Don't know if that helps you troubleshoot or not... ;-)

Most of the time now the Facebook login is working.

Mark,
Unforutnately, I don't right now. We just found another minor issue with JomSocial 2.2 and how it handles 'blank'/non-existent avatars, which we'll be fixing soon. I definitely see the issue on your site, but we haven't recreated it specifically on our dev sites. We'll be digging into this further tomorrow and hopefully have a better response then "I dunno".

Thanks,
Alex

We're looking into it. It's a strange case on your site, that we can't reproduce elsewhere. I'm going to be trying some things on your dev site soon. Can you re-upgrade me to administrator there? I always downgrade myself when I think I'm done.

We also just posted 3.2.2 of the JomSocial profile plugin. It's possible, though unlikely, that this will fix your issue. The links to the avatar simply seem to be blank, and we're not sure where that's coming from.. but we'll figure it out.

If you have anything special configured for JomSocial or your avatars, please let us know.. it may help.

Thanks!
