Changed the admin ID to the correct Facebook ID and removed the url ... that fixed the "likes" problem for the page... still having an issue with the site hanging when I try to log in. By the way, it does NOT hang if I try to log in on the JomSocial page ...

Just found something interesting ... I logged into my site using another Facebook account I have that is NOT associated with my development site on Facebook (just a generic user). It went right in and did not hang at all. Do you think this is related to me using my Facebook admin login?

It's always possible. We'll be testing further shortly, but yeah, test from a few accounts and see if it's specific to one account.

Also, what SEF extension are you using on your site? If possible (depends on the extension), can you disable SEF rewriting for just JFBConnect? If not, let us know what you're using, and we'll let you know if there are any known fixes for it.

Thanks for your patience,
Alex

I am using SEF Advanced ... I did mark the component to be ignored and it would not work at all ...

Did some more testing ... this morning I was able to log right in without the website hanging (and having to hit F5 to complete the process) ... but ever since then regardless of whether I stay logged into Facebook or complete log out of everything it hangs... very strange ...

When I successfully logged in this morning it did prompt me to bring over my avatar and posting but not again after that ... if that helps... I do have "Always import data = True" and Import Avatar and Import Status = True...Show non-mapped fields is = False

Mark,
You will only get the permissions request dialog box the first time you connect to your site. Once it's approved (one-time only), you shouldn't get the request dialog again since you've already approved it. After that, on subsequent logins, since you've already given permission, JFBConnect should automatically import your user profile without any interaction required from the user (other than hitting "Login with Facebook").

Hope this helps explain a little more. I can't tell from your first paragraph if you're still seeing the pop-up remaining. If so, let us know, and we'll keep investigating the issue there. We test constantly in Chrome though, and haven't seen that issue on your site, or others, but that of course doesn't mean it's not happening.. strange things happen on sites all the time :)

Thanks for the quick reply .. I'm still having trouble login in. It just hangs and never completes ... Did you say that you tested with my site and logged in okay? Did you try it a few times just to be sure? I really appreciate all the help. We have a MAJOR marketing push and launch coming up May 9th and I really need this to be as bullet proof as possible by then. When I try with Chrome I get the following error messsage:
Reload this web page later.
HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error): An unexpected condition was encountered while the server was attempting to fulfill the request.

Thanks very much!!!

Mark,
Yup, I was wrong. I think I tested on a different site yesterday. I just created an account on your site, and when I log in, I can see the 500 error. I've seen this before on a few other sites, and it's usually either a security issue where a firewall or other 'protection suite' is preventing the long URL that Facebook returns from being parsed and used on the site. The other option is that your Advanced SEF (which we're not as familiar with) is not liking the long URL.

If possible, can you elevate our account "sourcecoast" to super admin and we can investigate further. I'll install extPlorer, a file manager, to let us make some minor modifications to JFBConnect for testing purposes, and hopefully find the problem. If you have a development server to test on, that's always where we'd prefer to start.

Thanks for your patience, and we'll get you setup :)
