This thread is confusing :(

Argancel: Thank you so much for your French contribution. They'll be included in the next release! Yes, I guess we missed some of the error/status messages. Sorry about that, we'll get them included.

I'll PM you the system plugin shortly. Don't really want to post it as we don't want many people to use it yet. It works in most cases, but hasn't been tested enough yet, and we know some server situations would cause problems (not yours).

Sorry, I didn't see the suggestion above...
Yes, setting the rows to 4 the module works fine ;)
But if I try to enanble it also in the page of my JomSocial Community ("Comunità"), the module doesn't charge any facebook profile (I see only the charging icon keep moving endless).
Is there a solution for Jomsocial compatibility?

Thank you very much
:)

Hi,

I fixed my site's JFBCInvite settings to not truncate the right side. I'm using:

Joomla 1.5.13
JFBCInvite 3.0.0
JFBConnect 3.0.1
Community Builder 1.2.3

In Joomla, the path to the file I changed is: <JOOMLA ROOT>/modules/mod_jfbcinvite/tmpl/default.php
At about line # 25, find:
else if ($params->get('cols') == 5)
        $closedWidth = 740;
} else {
change the value 740 to 810. Save that change.

Lastly, open your JFBCInvite module settings. I have Rows => 4 and Columns => 5 (740px wide). Save the new settings.

Test the Facebook invite screen to see if it has improved. If it looks fine, you're done. if it's just a little better, change the default.php value to something slightly larger, refresh the browser, and test again.

Hope that helps someone else.

Doug

Thank you very much :)

But my problem now is that the module doesn't work in the page of my JomSocial community ....it seems there is a conflict between JomSocial and the module...

Do you have an idea of this?

Paolo ;)

Paolo,
I'm not able to log into your site again. Not sure why that is, but I am seeing the same Javascript error I mention above. It's possible this is again preventing me from getting in.

Regarding JomSocial, there shouldn't be any conflicts there, but I'd recommend ensuring that their Facebook settings are all at "No" and the Facebook keys in the JomSocial configuration area are blank. If that still doesn't change things, then I'll need to be able to log in and see the Community page myself to determine the problem.

Hello,
I set to "no" my jomsocial Facebook options, the Api keys are blank...but the moduel doesn't charge anything anyway.

I created you a profile to login without facebook, so you can see the jomsocial page:
username: guest
password: guest

In a private message now I sento to you the username and password to anter as admin in my backend, so you can see more deeply which could be the problem (login + jomsocial problems).

Thank you
Paolo :)

Hello Alezander,
a interesting new for you.

If I login at "Comunità" (the part of my website with JomSocial community) with the username and password I created for you (guest; guest: see previous post), and then I ask to reconnect with Facebook with my facebook personal account, finally I can see the Invite module working properly also in JomSocial.

Note that now, if I login with Facebook, I don't enter as my normal avatar ("AB Normal"), as before, but as "guest".

Hope this new could help you solve my problem ;)

ps: "guest" is member of the site as "Registered", and not "Author". AB Normal is "Author". This could be important?

Could this help you?

Thank you

Paoulo,
Using Firefox or Chrome, when I log in with the guest account, I see the following message in the "Invite Friends" area:
Please log in through Facebook to invite your friends to this site!

If I then log into Facebook (either at Facebook.com or through your site), I see the Invite module properly.

This is the expected behavior. The Invite module only appears if you are actually logged into Facebook. It will show for any user (guest or not) who is logged into Facebook in another tab. It does not require them to be logged in through JFBConnect on your site.

Is this what you are seeing, or are you seeing a different error or warning where the Invite module should be?

Hello,
the invite module works as you described above in all the pages of my website where the module in enabled, and in all the pages of my JomSocial Community ("Comunità"). But with only one exeption: it's the "Profile" page of the Jomsocial community , that is the page where JomSocial let you show you personal data, your avatar and so on. Only in this page of JomSocial, when I'm logged in with Facebook, the module doesn't work: I see the module without any facebook avatars, only the animated icon of "charging data" is present. But even if I wait for long time, no avatars of my Facebook friends is charged.
In other words, only in this particular page of JomSocial the module doesn't work.
Note that the "Profile" page of the JomSocial Community is the default page I've choosen for this component.

So: is it possible that this problem occures only for my personal community profile?

At your disposal for other questions ;)

Thanks
Paolo
