I got "this app not yet set up" when submitting to Facebook from a mobile phone.
It appears to work OK from a desktop PC.
What do I need to do?

That message usually means you haven't taken your app out of development mode. On your desktop, I'd guess you're logged into Facebook with an admin of your app, who can use the site in development mode. On your phone, you may not be logged into Facebook at all, which is why you see that message.

Double-check our Facebook Setup Guide , specifically, step 12. If that doesn't help, let us know a URL we can test with.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Re Facebook setup
Facebook requests, "Submit for Review"
Does the site have to be live before I may Submit for Login Review?
Its still in development for a few weeks more and behind a firewall.
Will the Facebook details expire?
Do I need to wait till website is live before submitting for review?
I don't clearly understand this or what to do next.

Re: Web OAuth Flow or Specify a Redirect Whitelist.
Top of page facebook for developers (advanced) has red exclamation triangle & notice:
"Client OAuth login is enabled but you haven't listed any valid OAuth redirect URIs. Click hereĀ  for more information."
How is this done? Would you provide a simple description for a first timer in this realm, please.

I've attached a screenshot of settings at "facebook for developers Settings" I adjusted to what appeared to make sense.
Did I come close to best practice?
If not hat changes would you suggest for best security and smooth function?

What do I need to do?

Regards,

Re G+ setup

I went into G+ setup as per your page:https://www.sourcecoast.com/jfbconnect/docs/social-network-applications/google-application-setup

Everything was doable until I got to 7.6 and then their page appeared to not concur

I could not find, "..the "Authorized redirect URI" section.." This does not appear.

I don't appear able to move forward to obtain the secret.

What am I missing?

Hi Alex,

Re Facebook

Log in attempts now get this message:

"App Not Setup: This app is still in development mode, and you don't have access to it. Switch to a registered test user or ask an app admin for permissions."

This process is similar to quicksand. The deeper one goes the deeper there is to go. Any tips for a simple country boy?

I have no clue what these choices mean and can't find a detailed or understandable description (not that I really want to slough through even more seemingly endless pages of details): from Facebook.

manage_notifications ---what notifications?
manage_pages --what pages?
publish_actions-- what actions?
publish_pages--what pages?
read_custom_friend lists--what friend lists?
read_insights-- what insights?
read_mailbox--what mailbox

Am I even in the right section?

SOS

The auto login is awesome but it only does this for the owner of the app. I'm sure this indicates something but I have no clue what.

Auto tune says everything is good & green ticks when I take site to live temporarily.

Users still cannot log in using Facebook button.

I got a migraine looking for links that don't exist in G+.

You only need to submit your app for review if you're requesting additional permissions from the user. For the basic name & email address and allowing users to authenticate, you don't need to submit for review. If you have enabled any of the social profile plugins and are importing additional data, you may need to go through the review process so that you can get those details from your user. You can go through the review process at any time, whether your site is live or not.

Please see step 15 of our Facebook setup guide .

"App Not Setup: This app is still in development mode, and you don't have access to it. Switch to a registered test user or ask an app admin for permissions."

Not really quicksand, just a loop. Please see my post above about disabling Development mode. You can disable development mode at any time and still leave your site offline or behind a firewall. Turning off development mode just allows any user, not just the Facebook administrators for your app, to login to your site.

Google's management area 'looks' pretty, but is horrendous to administer and find things.. we'll agree, but can't do anything about it. With that said, I just went through the steps and was brought to the following screen after step 7.5:

Can you let us know what you see after you start trying to create credentials?

Hi Alex,

Thanks for your reassurance and clarification.
Also thanks for making a component to make things relatively easier for ordinary people.
I think what I will do is start over and adhere strictly to your tutorial without looking at anything else.
I'll get Facebook working first.
Twitter appears to be the most straightforward to set up.
Then I'll address the G+ issues I'm experiencing later and if I fail to beat it, I'll start a separate ticket.

Thanks again!

We're glad to help. Frankly, social integration is difficult. We try to make JFBConnect and our documentation as easy to follow as possible, but there will always be complexity. Especially when we have guides for each social network that have steps like 7-d and 8-c.. it's an indication that the networks themselves aren't always straightforward.

I think what I will do is start over and adhere strictly to your tutorial without looking at anything else.

That's a good plan. It's easy to get sidetracked, and our guides aren't always 100% up-to-date (the application processes change constantly), but it should just work.

I'll get Facebook working first.

Facebook should be the easiest. It's the most popular and our Autotune tool can setup a lot of settings but, frustratingly, Facebook doesn't allow some settings to be done automatically.

As always, just let us know where we can help if you get stuck or how we can improve things if you find some rough edges.

Thanks!
Alex

Hello Alex,

I really appreciate you empathy in this.
I was starting to think less of myself there for a while after wading through numerous of Facebook pages.
I later realized, "its all about security and the weirder and more unusual the mind that made the maze, the harder it would be for a hacker to get through, unless of course he is equally weird and unusual :)
Yup. I let myself get sidetracks and some.In hindsight I'm laughing at myself as my gut was saying" keep it simple, look for the simple thread through all this."
And that finally brought me back to the obvious which was staring at me: Your tutorial!
I've got to learn to slow down even more.

Thanks again!

I did everything from scratch again and used the JFB connect settings to the fullest extent, minimizing FB contact. .

The current Facebook for developers interface seems different than the tutorial and I minimized doing there. I notice your setting in JFB are designed to minimize the FB headache of complexity and chaos. (I know there is an order in there somewhere and only the guy who built it knows what it is and one or two other people on the planet.)

Believe it or not Auto Tune says "all good" & green ticks BUT now there is a 403 error at Remote Error Checker.

I'm not sure what to do or undo next.

Attempt to log in usiung FB button in SClogin shows the attached (please see attached) and I'm not sure if that notice is 'friend or foe.' Or how it will affect others.
