Auto-publish? was created by cork
Does JFBConnect have an auto-publish feature that automatically publishes K2 or Joomla content to social media sites after they are saved? Or do you have an extension that does this?

Cork,
JFBConnect does not currently have an auto-posting ability. Our Channels feature lets you configure a Facebook Page or Group, Twitter Stream and/or LinkedIn Company Page that you can post content to with 1-click, as well as adding a comment to that post.

We are working on the auto-posting ability, which should be in the next major release due out around April. If you subscribe now, of course, you'll be eligible to upgrade to all future releases while you're subscription is still active.

I hope that helps, but if you need anything else, just let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

I am interested in the Channels feature. So, how does the 1-click work? From within the component? Do I select all the Joomla articles and K2 items that I want to publish to Facebook and Twitter and click Publish? Does it work with Ohanah events too?

Our original announcement blog post probably gives the best high-level overview best:
www.sourcecoast.com/blog/social-network-...lved-jfbconnect-v6-0
Basically, you create a Channel in the admin area. Then, on the front-end, there's a special button that an admin can use to add a comment and push the post to any of the social networks you have configured.

It can only push one URL from your site at a time, but can go to as many social networks as you have configured. Additionally, if your site has multiple administrators, those admins don't need to have admin access to the social networks, which is a good way to segregate and improve security to your social network credentials.

The auto-posting feature coming in the next release, will be managed in the admin area. From there, you can setup a few extensions that will automatically post when new content is created. Since this method requires special knowledge of each extension, it won't work with them all, but Joomla content, K2, JomSocial, EasySocial, and a few others will be included out of the box. Unfortunately, Ohanah won't be supported in the initial release.

From the front-end, you'll be able to post any Ohanah events using the more manual method. We'll still recommend the front-end option since you can add a comment to each post you create, which is the recommended way to push any content to your social feeds. We understand that automatic posting is too easy to pass up though so you don't have to manage each of them so much.

I hope that helps explain,
Alex

I'm running Joomla 2.5 on a very large site. Will the next release be compatible with Joomla 2.5?

Does JFBConnect also auto-publish Ohanah events?

Yes, we still support Joomla 2.5.28 and plan to continue releasing versions that support Joomla 2.5 for some time. My guess is that around when Joomla 4 is released, we'll stop supporting Joomla 2.5. I don't think that will be happening until at least 2017 though, but I make no guarantees.

Does JFBConnect also auto-publish Ohanah events?

We don't yet, but we're actually working with the Ohanah developers to create more integration, like auto-posting, between JFBConnect and Ohanah. If you have some suggestions or ideas, please feel free to post in this thread with any thoughts or features you'd like. That thread is a discussion between one of our users and the lead developer of Ohanah :)

I hope that helps answer your questions,
Alex

Do you have a demo where I can evaluate the channels feature? Is there anyway to post K2 articles to social sites without having to add a comment?

We don't have a demo site. We've found that JFBConnect has so many features, and there's so many different ways our users choose to integrate some or all options into their site, that a demo can become too confusing. When you're trying to configure something that you're not familiar with on a site you're unfamiliar with, its difficult to understand if what you're looking for is really available.

That's why we do have a 30-day money back guarantee though. If you try JFBConnect on your own site and environment and aren't happy, no worries.

Is there anyway to post K2 articles to social sites without having to add a comment?

Sure! Right now, even with the 1-click posting feature, you can simply leave the comment area blank. JFBConnect will still post the link to the page along with the title, image and intro sentence to the article. When the auto-posting feature is available in the next release, the post will be made automatically on it's own and show up very similarly.

I hope that helps explain,
Alex
