I'm a newbie here, but looking at top of your screenshot, you need to change the setting at the top right of Status Review (Do you want to make this app and all its live features available to the general public?) from No to Yes.

In theory, all you need to do when setting the app up is get the App ID and App Secret, give your App a name, save everything, and then go to your website and run 'AutoTune'. AutoTune does everything for you. I followed those Source Coast instructions, and literally had the basics all working within minutes.

(I'm not experienced enough with JFBConnect to give any more advice than that, but one thing I suspect might affect AutoTune from setting up your app data correctly is if your website is configured to be offline or in maintenance mode)

Stuart,
Thanks for the input.. and I'm glad to hear Autotune and our docs worked well for you. We try to make it that easy for everyone :)

Dennis,
The screenshot you show is for features of Facebook that you don't need right now. For the basic required setup to allow authentication, profile import, social sharing features, Facebook Requests and most other features, please read through our Facebook Application Setup Guide .

That should take you through getting the API and Secret key. The only thing you need to do in the Developer area is get the API and Secret key and enable the app in the "Status & Review" section as Stuart mentioned.

The picture you show is for getting your App to show in the "App Center". While you can submit your app for the App Center, only apps with high amounts of users get accepted. Until your site grows and you have lots (in the thousands per month) users registering and logging into your site, you won't be able to list in the App Center.. so you can safely ignore that section.

I hope that helps explain, but if you get stuck or have any other questions, just let me know.

Thanks,
Alex

Just to mention, I did receive your email. I haven't checked the admin area of the site. If you are having issues, we'll gladly take a look at the admin area, but please let us know what feature you're trying to configure, what you've done, and what issues you've run into.

Thanks!

dennisth19,
Sorry for the delay. I received your updated email and just had time to investigate the site. You didn't give any more details as to what was wrong, so it took some time to test and guess as to the issues you're running into.

I tried registering using Facebook and my account was created as expected. I then received the activation email which I clicked the link to approve my account. I then tried to login again, but the page didn't show me as being logged in. However, if I refreshed the page, the login module properly showed the Logout button and my avatar.

To fix the problem so that it always showed me logged in properly, I had to disable the GK Cache plugin. I'm not sure what that plugin is doing, but if it's using Browser Caching of the output to speed up page loads, then it needs to be disabled. Browser caching can't be used for the page output or else the browser will never get the updated HTML showing that the user is logged in. Browser caching *can* be used for assets (CSS files, images, etc), just not the HTML response.

Either way, things do look to be working now.

If you are running into any other issues though, please let me know what problems you're having.

Thanks,
Alex
