Yes, the like and comment counts would reset if you switched. With that said, the next release of JFBConnect, v6.1, due out in just a few weeks, will have a setting to 'force' the scheme of all social widgets to either http:// or https://. With that, even if you move to https, you can tell Facebook to treat all of your URLs as http. The like counts and comments will be kept the same. If a user clicks a post in Facebook they'll be brought to the http version of your site, which will likely just redirect the user to the https version.

I hope that helps explain and give you some ideas of what you will be able to do with 6.1 to help minimize this problem.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,
many thanks for explanation. I'll wait the 6.1 release looking if I can keep save the counters before to look into SSL.

Please, thinking on 6.1, a small off topic, as we discussed here , any hope to see a Seblod plugin into that release ?

It won't be in the 6.1 release. We are adding a few great features to that release and then planning a 6.2 release later this Summer which will implement more profile plugins. There's a general overhaul of the profile plugin system planned for that release to make development of those plugins easier which will, in turn, allow for quicker development of integrations for other extensions.

By JFBConnect 6.2, we'll be supporting around 10 social networks for authentication. At that point, it will be important to support as many 3rd party extensions as we can to get the full benefit of such a wide social network breadth.

Sorry for the delay in this. We haven't added enough 3rd party integration lately, and we realize that.. but it will be changing later this year.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,
as always, really many thanks for explanations, too appreciate.

Now that I'm off topic :) I add also the questions about two feature discussed in past and, as far as I know, planned to be released soon:
- What about "Post to Socials" Events ?
- What about add social images folders to articles ?

Just to be updated :)

- What about "Post to Socials" Events ?

I'm not sure specifically what you mean here. If you mean creating an event on Facebook after it's been created on your site, unfortunately, that likely isn't possible any more. Facebook recently made a sweeping change to their API and one of the things they removed was the ability to create an event. You can still do it on their site, obviously, but can't do it from another website. If you meant something else though, let me know.

- What about add social images folders to articles ?

I'm not sure what you mean here either. Can you explain further? In general, we're working on more ways to pull content in from social networks. With the 6.1 release of JFBConnect, we'll be extending the "Channels" feature to let you import and show a stream from a Facebook Page or Group, Twitter Stream or LinkedIn Company on your site (and even mix them all together). We have plans to add more Channels in future releases as well to better push and pull content to the social network promotional areas you manage.

I hope that helps explain, but as always, let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Alex
