Topic-icon Can't get the JFBConnect LinkedIn modules to display on page

Hi All,

I'm hoping someone out there might be able to help me out. I'm a developer trying to leverage the JFBConnect Linkedin modules for a client site, but for some reason I'm unable to get the modules to display anything. I've installed and enabled everything in the updates section of the JFBConnect control panel. I've placed the modules in the page and everything looks like it good to go, but nothing is displaying except for 'powered by JFBConnect' for all the modules, from Member Profile to Company Profile. I'm logged in as a user and everything, but still nothing is displayed. The only thing I can get to work is single sign-on through the Linkedin link on the login page. I've tripled checked all the modules, extensions, and plug ins, and everything looks correct. Even the company ids and urls look right. So, if there's any suggestion or help anyone can offer, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,
Richard

Richard,
Please make sure you've read through the LinkedIn Application setup guide . Specifically, ensure that step 3-2-4 for setting up your Javascript application domain. If that's not setup properly, what you describe above will happen.. code will be there, but nothing will show.

I hope that helps, but if not, let me know and we'll gladly help investigate further.

Thanks,
Alex

Alex,

Thanks for the help, but unfortunately it didn't work. We went through the LinkedIn Application setup guide and double checked step 3-2-4 for setting up our Javascript application domain, and it still doesn't display the data in the widgets. We have the last version of jLinked, should we install that, too? We were hoping to use JFBConnect only because we need integration with the other social sites. So far, it seems all the other social integrations work, except for Linkedin. I would greatly appreciate it if you can point me to another way to install JFBConnect or to a checklist for what's needed to be enabled to run the Linkedin part of JFBConnect. I hope you can continue to help us.

Thanks,
Richard

Richard,
I'm not sure why it's not working then. I just checked out 2 of the sites you've run Autotune on. When the page loads on each site, there's a Javascript error about this block of code:

Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected identifier

for what is being reported as coming from the block of Javascript that starts with:
(function($){
   $(window).load(function(){

	var $slider_ul_id = $('#slider'); //Please define slider items list ID

	$slider_ul_id.nivoSlider({
I have no idea if that's the cause of the problem. A Javascript error can prevent other things from executing, but that's likely *not* the cause in all honesty.

Can you let me know a page you have the LinkedIn widgets setup on so we can take a look at what's happening? We should be able to help you narrow things down quickly.

Thanks,
Alex
