My set up Joomla 3.2 jomsocial 3.1.4 JFBC latest version 6.01
I have a couple issues
first one is when you sign into my app from mobile or from the face book you have hit the login button and the facebook connect button before it will redirects to the activty or second home page for logged in users and if you turn off the show logging in with face book cred:: setting nothing happens its just stays on the guest page I was hoping once you logged in with face book or where on face book it would auto redirect to the proper page is there a setting I am missing??

Second issue is I set up the social share and like buttons module and it was working and than to day the buttons where missing they where working fine the module is displaying because the title shows but there are no button???

There is a setting in the Configuration -> Facebook area of JFBConnect for "Automatically Login Facebook Users". When enabled, any returning visitor to your site that has already authenticated through Facebook will be automatically logged in. I'm assuming that's what you're looking for, but if not, let me know.

For the social share buttons, I didn't see them on your main landing page or a user's profile page that I clicked on. Is there a specific page I can look at where the buttons should be.. but aren't?

Also, other things to check:
* If you go directly to that page on your domain (outside of the Facebook Canvas), do the buttons work?
* If you change your template (if easy to switch), do they work?
Knowing the answer to those questions will help narrow things down.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex
I have that selector selected but what is happening is if i am logged out of my site and i go to my app in face book the app loads but it goes to the quest page for jomsocial and if a user selects log in with face book it does nothing but i f click on the login button from sclogin module and than click the Facebook button it loads the correct page I have tried setting returning users to a diferent page other than home but it did not change any thing

The second issue with the social share button seems to have been a conflict with freichat component I disabled it and enabled it and it seems to be working except that there is no linked in button all the rest of the buttons work and i am able to login with the linked in button

Thanks for the information.

I just went to your site and tried to login. After accpeting your app, the following Javascript errors show up:
Uncaught ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined jfbconnect.js?v=6:1035
Uncaught ReferenceError: jfbcJQuery is not defined all.js:79
You must have jQuery and the Bootstrap Javascript library loaded on your site for JFBConnect to function. Please enable the "Include jQuery/Bootstrap" setting in JFBConnect to fix this problem for you. That should hopefully get things going how you want, but if not, let us know.

be working except that there is no linked in button all the rest of the buttons work and i am able to login with the linked in button

Which LinkedIn buttons is missing and which LinkedIn button are you able to login with? I'm a bit confused here.

Thanks,
Alex

hey Alex i enabled that "Include jQuery/Bootstrap" setting in JFBConnect it is still directing users to the com_commnity frontpage.guest.php instead of the frontpage.members.php this is happening in the face book canvas area not on the full site outside of Facebook. Is there a way I could get it to show a pop up with a button that says continue or something ??? Please some step by step instructions would help cut down on the figuring things out

The LinkedIn button isn't working because you haven't setup your LinkedIn Application properly. Please re-read our LinkedIn Application Setup Guide . Specifically, step 2-4 (Javascript API Domain) does not seem to be correct for your site.

JFBConnect it is still directing users to the com_commnity frontpage.guest.php instead of the frontpage.members.php this is happening in the face book canvas area not on the full site outside of Facebook. Is there a way I could get it to show a pop up with a button that says continue or something ??? Please some step by step instructions would help cut down on the figuring things out

I just went to your Canvas area and was automatically logged in. After being automatically logged in, I was redirected to the standard JomSocial landing page where i could see the latest activity stream and there was a notice to complete my profile on the right.

It sounds like that isn't working for you. If that's the case, please fully close your browser and then reopen and try again. Whenever you click the "Logout" button on your site, JFBConnect will *not* automatically log that user back in for a long period of time. That feature is meant to prevent the user from being auto-logged back in after they have intentionally logged out. It's my guess that that is what's happening to you.

If that still doesn't help, please tell us exactly what steps you're taking (starting with closing the browser fully and re-opening it) so that we can try to recreate the issue better.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks for being on the Job Alex You have the best response time I have see from a Joomla developer. That clears everything up and yes i was logging in and out and testing the features of this great extension. If that's the way its suppose to work I guess I have to deal with it. I don't see any other apps that behave in that manner. every time you go to them your logged-in. is there a way to take this feature out of the code by any chance its making my members think its not working since alot of them are mobile and they log in and out of there programs to save battery life

and i did not have any Url's in the java scripting set up On my Linked in account

Thanks again for doing such a great job helping me thru this set up

Do you mean 'apps' or 'websites' in there? We've played with a lot of different options, and never found a way to always keep the user logged in.. after you log them out. The problem is that Joomla and Facebook are disconnected as far as their knowledge of the user being logged in.

Specifically, when you log out of Joomla, you can still be logged into Facebook. Alternatively, you can logout of Facebook, you can still be logged into Joomla. Since we can't control the Facebook side of things, we have to drop a cookie on the users browser whenever they logout of Joomla to prevent them from being automatically signed back in. Until that cookie expires (which is how long the Session Timer in Joomla is), the user won't be automatically logged back in.. they'd have to do it manually.

Otherwise, the user would logout of Joomla... Facebook would alert us that the user is logged in... and we'd log them back in again. It is a minor inconvenience, but 99%+ of the time only affects user's that are testing the site. In the real world, when a user logs out, they want to be logged out.

Anyways, no problem for all the help. Should you need anything else, just let us know.

Finally, if you haven't already, please consider leaving a rating and review for JFBConnect, or our support, on the Joomla Extension Directory. It certainly isn't required, but is very appreciated:

Thanks,
Alex
