Tags Not Rendering :-D was created by nile
Hello,

I'm trying to use:

{JFBCFollow href=https://www.facebook.com/me layout=standard show_faces=true width=300 action=like font=Verdana colorscheme=light}

But nothing renders in the article. Any article or in any custom module. the JFBCFollow module doesn't render either.

I read in a post here, that the button needs to be made visible from the social page. I cant find this anywhere.
I've made all the buttons visible for the connect plugin - google, twitter etc.. but cant find the button for the above JFBCFollow.

what am i doing wrong?

Thx.

You need to use a specific user profile URL. Right now, you're using www.facebook.com/me , which would always be the 'current' viewer of the page and wouldn't make sense for them to be able to follow themselves.

Update that to a constant user profile URL and things should go better.

I hope that helps, but if not, let me know.

Thanks,
Alex

/me links to your Facebook Profile page, not a Fan Page. The Follow is for a profile page though, so that's correct. However, you need to use your absolute URL to your profile page for the Follow button because /me links to *whoever is logged into Facebook's profile page. If I go to /me, it goes to 'my' profile page. If you go to /me it goes to your profile page. You can't use /me. You need to use a real Profile URL like www.facebook.com/zuck

I hope that explains more,
Alex

i think i'm still not following. Okay - not a fan page. didn't know that.

but i tried my page,

www.facebook.com/nile.mysurname, i tried just nile, and i'm embarrased to say i also tried zuck.

Nothing.

i also checked there was no markup in the tag. there wasn't.

many thanks.

I'm not sure then. Can you post, or Private Message, a page where we can see where you put the JFBCFollow tag and we'll investigate further.

Thanks,
Alex

On that page, the Follow button links to the following 2 URLs which don't work:
www.facebook.com/nile - This page doesn't exist on Facebook
www.facebook.com/nile.spencer.mXXXX - This page has the following error message:

This content is currently unavailable
The page you requested cannot be displayed right now. It may be temporarily unavailable, the link you clicked on may have expired, or you may not have permission to view this page.

That's when I'm logged out of Facebook. If I login, the page is available, but there is no "Follow" button on it. You'll need to make your profile viewable by guests and in the Account Settings -> Followers area, check the "Turn on Follow" box.

I hope that helps get you going,
Alex
