Is there a setting somewhere that I am missing to add the Facebook, Google+ and LinkedIn buttons to the top of my "Register" page like you have on yours?

Your page at www.sourcecoast.com/register

has nice "Register With" buttons that I would like to have on my page as well. Can this be turned on somewhere?

My page is located at: www.drcarney.com/my-profile?view=registration

Thank you, Sean Carney

Sean,
There isn't an option yet to enable that as every template is different for the registration, though we're planning to have a setting in the v5.2 release to automatically add the social login buttons.. it's just taking a bit of work.

Until then, you'll need to add the buttons yourself. You can do so by editing the /components/com_users/views/registration/tmpl/default.php file and adding {JFBCLogin} wherever you want the buttons to display.

I hope that helps, but if you have any other questions, just let me know.

Thanks,
Alex

Thank you very much for the reply. I am going to choose to wait until 5.2 instead of editing any of the PHP files. I can certainly wait without it being too big of a problem. OTOH, do you have a ballpark idea of when you hope to launch 5.2? :-) Thanks again! :-)

v5.2 is currently scheduled for late October. That will have a lot of other changes (like Twitter authentication). If it slips, it would only be into November sometime.

I hope that answers your questions, but if you have others, just let me know.

Thanks,
Alex

Please do not post in unrelated threads. If you have a new question, please feel free to post a new topic.

As for that feature, it's under investigation right now while we add new social network providers, like Google+ (in v5.1) and Twitter (in the upcoming v5.2). As we're implementing those features, we're implementing the underlying code that should make automatic posting possible. At first, we'll likely have an easy way from the front-end that an admin can manually post content to their different social network areas.

I hope that helps explain, but if you have any more questions regarding this, again, please start a new topic.

Thanks,
Alex
