Hmm, this one is weird.

Currently running Joomla 3.1 + Jomsocial 3.

The auto login feature confused one of my users so I switched it off. But whenever I'm logged in at Facebook I still get logged in automatically.

The popup appears in Firefox for a second, but then I'm automatically logged in. I want to login manually, regardless if I'm logged in on Facebook or not.

All cache is cleared and / or disabled and I've tried in both Firefox, Chrome and Safari. Same result.

Any ideas? Website URL is www.crashdiet.org/cc25

Thanks

Cheers

Peter,
The Automatically Log Facebook Users in setting will log a user in whenever they visit your page if they are already logged into Facebook (and have registered/logged into your site previously). With that setting enabled, the user will not have to click the "Login with Facebook" button at all, it will happen automatically.

What you're asking about is when they click the Login with Facebook button, they aren't asked to enter their credentials. That's something that Facebook does and we have no control over. If the user is already logged into Facebook in another tab, Facebook won't present them with a credentials box because it already 'knows' who they are. There's no way to fix this as the user is intentionally leaving themselves logged into Facebook.. if the credentials did work, they'd either be logged into 2 accounts at once (not possible) or would be force-logged out of the other account (not something Facebook wants to do).

I'd recommend disabling the "Logout of Joomla Only" setting, which will log the user out of Facebook when they log out of your site. That's the more secure way to do things as it won't leave their Facebook session open unknowingly.

I hope that explains, it's the best advice I can give. If you have any feedback and/or suggestions though, just let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks alzander for getting back to me. And explaining how the autologin feature works. I get it now :).

Some of my users had problem at first but it was totally my fault. I didn't clear the Facebook API and Application Secret fields in Jomsocial. So I was actually running two instances of the intergration, so my already registered users had some issues logging in and out. Once I cleared those fields (and also removed the previous app completely from my facebook account) it works perfect.

I'm really happy with your component and I doubt I'll run into any more issues at all haha. But if I do it feels great to know that your support is top notch.

Keep up the good work!

Cheers

Peter

Peter,
Glad you got that part worked out. If you haven't seen our integration guide for JomSOcial yet, I'd recommend checking it out. There may be some pointers in there that help:
www.sourcecoast.com/jfbconnect/docs/thir...ration-for-jomsocial

The only thing not mentioned in there is that you can import any connections previously made in JomSocial's Facebook integration over to JFBConnect. To do so, enable the SocialProfiles - JomSocial plugin (which I'm assuming you've already done) and then go to the UserMap area of JFBConnect and click "Import Connections".

That should migrate all the settings. I'd recommend making a backup of your site or database first, just in case, but you really shouldn't run into any issues with that.

Thanks,
Alex
