When I had you add the workaround in that file, perhaps the permissions/owner were changed? My suggestion would be to try to first try to fix the permissions. If they look right or you're unsure on how to change them, just delete the file in the /components/com_jfbconnect/libraries/provider/yahoo.php and try to reinstall. Let me know if this doesn't work.

Successfully updated permissions and update component.
seem to work for initial sign up, however, when trying to login a second time receive error..

The email address you entered is already in use. Please enter another email address.


Seems we have the same problem.

Ahh, I don't know how I didn't catch this when I was testing it! It was a stupid code mistake on my part. I've uploaded a new release version 8.4.2 of JFBConnect that will fix this.
