Hello
I receive this error with every social network configured.
The accounts seem to be created correctly in the back-end, however every time user attempts to login the following error is displayed
(This is also the case with Twitter, Google and Facebook)
Message
LinkedIn profile successfully connected.
Error
This user has not yet confirmed his email address and account!
This user has not yet been approved by a moderator!
In the back-end the social network account is enable and activated. I have tried several configurations always with same result.
There is no where to confirm or approve the account. Moderatyor is disable and actviation is set to SELF in Joomla user manager.

When an email is sent to the user they click on the activation link and the following is still displayed..

Message
LinkedIn profile successfully connected.
Error
This user has not yet confirmed his email address and account!
This user has not yet been approved by a moderator!

Please assist.
Thanks

It looks like activation for new users is enabled in some way. The three places that you need to check:

1. Joomla User Manager area > Options > "New User Account Activation" setting
2. JFBConnect backend > Configuration > General > "Skip Joomla User Activation" setting
3. a. Any third party extensions like Community Builder or JomSocial. They generally have their own activation settings that might override Joomla activation settings.
3. b. If you have any Social Profiles for extensions in 3.a. enabled, then there may be corresponding activation settings in the JFBConnect backend > Profiles area to configure.

You can confirm whether the users were activated by going into the Joomla User Manager area and verifying that column setting for the users.

I hope this helps narrow down the issue, but let us know if you need further help.

Melissa,Thank you for the recommendations.
We have checked all setting and still receive the following error.
Message
LinkedIn profile successfully connected.
Error
This user has not yet confirmed his email address and account!
This user has not yet been approved by a moderator!.

No user activation is set in any component.
Please advise. This is becoming and issue.
I do not believe a forum is an adequate means for support for a paid item. I can get this with free components.
A support ticket system should be in place.
If this can not be addressed immediately we will be requesting a refund. We run a major site and cannot go back and forth on this.
Thanks

Can you please help answer Melissa's question about whether you are using a profile extension like Community Builder, EasySocial or JomSocial? Many times those extensions have their own activation and moderation capabilities, so it's possible you need to look further than just the standard Joomla User Manager.

Whatever the issue is, it's not something we've heard of so we'll need as many details about your configuration as you can provide for us to investigate and provide a more complete answer. If you'd like to Private Message us admin credentials to your site, we can take a look there as well. You can PM us by clicking the mail icon under your name.

A support ticket system should be in place.

We have used an open support forum for over 10 years and won't be changing anytime soon. We would monitor and respond to a ticket system just as quickly as we do here, and the benefit of an open forum is that you're able to look if others are encountering the same issue. It's been extremely valuable in the past when a social network makes a change so that multiple people can work together to report the change and help us fix it even quicker. I understand many free extensions use forums as well, but the difference is that we are actively and constantly monitoring and responding to posts here.

Thanks,
Alex

Do you have any required fields in Community Builder that are not being imported into in the JFBConnect > Profiles > Community Builder area? In this scenario, CB will not activate the user until those profile fields are filled out. That's true even if you don't have activation enabled in CB. If there are fields that are required and you can't map a field from Facebook, then set your options in JFBConnect > Profiles > Community Builder to show fields that are required. Then the user will be able to fill them out when they encounter the mini registration view. If you have some unmapped fields and automatic registration is enabled, you will encounter this scenario.

That error message is generally when there's something not configured correctly in the social network application.

Can you let me know what your settings are for the app? Here's an example for my selenium testing app:

File Attachment:

Can you also verify that this is a Windows Live app and not an Azure AD app?

Please make sure

1. Your redirect URI is in the following format:
yourdomain.com/index.php
yourdomain.com/index.php
** This is generally the step that will cause that error.

2. Your client and secret keys match what's in your app

3. What scope have you chosen for the Social Directory permission?
