Hi:
I am getting that error message. Principal reason for getting the JFB extension is Twitter support. Have tried creating new Twiter app. Same error.

Replied by mel on topic Twitter 0 Bad request token!
The following are the main reasons that this error usually occurs:

* Your Twitter Application wasn't set up properly. As of 6/2018, Twitter has made a chance to their app settings for "Callback URL". The URL should be your website followed by index.php, like "yoursite.com/index.php"
* You didn't copy the API Key and Secret properly to JFBConnect
* Your Twitter API and Secret Keys may need to be regenerated in your Twitter application. This may be done inside the Twitter Development area for your app.
* Your server time is incorrect (uncommon)

Since you said you've created a new app, please doublecheck the callback URL with our Twitter Application Setup Guide

Hi Melissa:

Updated the callback with the index.php, error gone but still not working. I get a poppup fromTwitter saying will be redirected to application but I am directed to the website (no login is done). I have doubt about the API KEy and API SECRET codes, that JFB uses:

The codes are the ones I blacked out? Also where the Access token & access token secret codes are placed in JFB?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Again:

Seems working!!!! Now seems to be working but still user login is not completely done. The twitter app looks good now. Received the popup and redirected to site where I am welcome (note my user id at twitter is my website www.prepperspr.com!). .

Here my user name is welcome but redirected to registration instead of login.

What I have to setup so users easy of login with twitter credentials?

Thaniks

Hi:

Twitter app setup now seems ok. Part of the bad request was the use of www where the app use domain.com BUT....Login is NOT working, can not use Twitter credentials to log. Nor automatic login works. User is created at Joomla. Will try again tomorrow.

Later.

Hi Again:
Now it is working. I am able to log with twitter credentials. :) In summary my problems were as follow:

1- Add index.php to call back url at Twitter Dev App settings (twitter)
2- Be sure url in JFB connect is the same as twitter. Also when using the browser!
3- Be sure JFB Autheticate plugin is enabled

Later,

Edfel

Edfel,
I'm glad to hear you were able to resolve this. It sounds like the final issue was enabling the JFBConnect Authentication plugin. Just to be sure, you'll want the Authentication, System and User plugins enabled as they all have different functionality for different parts of the authentication process.

I hope everything continues to work well, but if you need anything else, please let us know!

Thanks,
Alex
