Can JFBConnect send Open Graph tags to Linkedin?
Thanks.

Yes! Open Graph tags are set on each page and social networks, like Facebook and LinkedIn, should automatically see these tags and use them for their previews.

I hope that helps answer your question, but if you need anything else, please let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks Alex.
Do I need to setup a Facebook app in addition to a Linkedin app?

For Open Graph tags to work, you do not need a LinkedIn application. The LinkedIn app is required if you want to allow LinkedIn authentication on your site or to have JFBConnect push content from your site to a LinkedIn feed.

Oh.. the opposite goes too. You don't need a Facebook app unless you want Facebook authentication and pushing content to pages or groups. For Facebook Likes or sharing, you don't need an App either.

Thanks Alex. I created a Linkedin channel to manually post, however, I don't see the Social Toolbar. How do I get "in a group with the "Post on Social Network" permission in JFBConnect"?

Thanks,

Dave

First, make sure the JFBConnect backend > Configuration > General > 'Enable Social Toolbar' option is enabled. Without this, the toolbar won't show on the front-end. It may be as simple as that.

However, to set the permission you mentioned - If you go into the JFBConnect backend > Overview area, click on the "Options" button on the top right (near the Autotune button). From there, you can turn on that permission for the desired user group. For instance, if your channel owner is an superadmin on your site, set the option to "Allowed" for Super Users. To get the social toolbar to show up, you may also need the 'View Open Graph Debugger' permission as well.

Thanks Melissa! 'Enable Social Bar' option is enabled. Set permissions to 'Allow' but still no toolbar on the frontend. Maybe something else? Is it possible to manually post from the admin?

We don't have a method to post from the admin area. The social toolbar allows you to post any URL from your site, regardless of the extension. There's no way to build a post ability into every extension from the admin area, so we don't support that method.

I'm unsure why you still can't see it. Can you Private Message us admin credentials for your site and we'll gladly help investigate further? You can PM us by clicking the mail icon under our name to the left.
