Hi Alex,
Last night I registered on instagram. Be aware that since your documentation was last updated that Instagram now allows you to register on a regular computer.

Reason I write though is that every time I tried to input www.mysite.com/index.php it never accepted it. Can you suggest a reason why that might be?

Also given that there is a restriction on the login attempts after this is done (10 I believe) do you recommend I wait till my site goes live? Right now it is locked via an extension called site-lock and you have to enter a username/password to enter the front end.

Thanks for your attention.

Where are you trying to put this? There are many fields in the Instagram app setup, so trying to understand where that's not being taken will help. Also, do you get an error or some other message that would help explain what's happening?

As for the invites to the sandbox, you can use them however you want. You'll need to test and go through the review process before you exit the sandbox, so I wouldn't recommend making the site fully live before you do that.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,
This is the stage in your documentation www.sourcecoast.com/jfbconnect/docs/soci...am-application-setup at point 4. e Valid redirect_uri That where it keeps rejecting. Message is something like it's not a valid url, and the field becomes highlighted clearly indicating that it's the problem with the page not being submitted.

My question about waiting to set up instagram was really asking whether the site lock username password (to stop people from seeing my site) would interfere with the testing in any way.

I think you'll need to help us understand further with the exact URL you're trying to add. I just created a new Instagram app with the following settings:
* Name: "Test Name"
* Description: "blah blah"
* Web URL: blah.com
* Valid redirect_uri: blah.com/index.php

Please let us know the exact message and any other details you can as we cannot recreate this issue at all.

Thanks,
Alex

Of course when I tried to replicate the issue it didn't occur. All is well now. To clarify I have to
1) first submit up to 10 sandbox users.
2) Check that they are able to login,
3) video one of them successfully logging in
4) Then click the "start a submission" button in the "Permissions" tab, and submit the video and carry out the other instructions and click "submit" button.

Correct?

Can I do all of this while my site is password protected to the general public?

Thanks for your help.

Peter

That flow sounds right to me. As far as I know, yes, you can do that while your site is password protected, but it's possible that could delay your submission if they want to test on their own. If getting approved is the priority, I'd recommend putting up as few barriers as possible.

Thanks,
Alex
