Topic-icon twitter registration process not fetching emails from twitter

Hi,

I had updated Joomla and all extensions to latest version on www.blabber.buzz/. Till now everything was working fine but now, when we try to register using twitter, it is not automatically registering users anymore. it is now behaving like :

First time twitter button redirect to api.twiiter.com page, there I can see a message in bottom "Will not be able to: See your email address." where as it was fetching email address earlier.
If a person click on twitter button second time, it open system's default register page.

This is really unexpected behaviour from JFBC module/extension. Site is live

Please let me know the issue and solution.

Thanks
Nirmal

JFBConnect can definitely import email addresses from Twitter. You need to make sure the Twitter application is properly setup to do so though.

Please go through the Twitter Application Setup Guide again. Specifically, check that section 7 is done properly in your Twitter app.

I hope that helps, but should you need anything else, please let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Everything is set as per instructions but when I click on twitter link, app permission page appears and next step redirects me to www.blabber.buzz/component/community/register . This is really awkward. FB and G+ are working fine.

I am attaching here screenshots related to configurations.

Thanks

In the above, it looks like Twitter is now asking for the email permission, so I'm assuming you updated something.

I just registered on your site without issue and was brought to the home page. My guess for what's happening is that you are trying to use Twitter login using an email address that already exists in your Joomla site *and* you have "Automatically link user's by email" set to 'No' in JFBConnect. In that case, JFBConnect can't automatically create a new account for the user because there's already an account with that email address. Therefore, JFBConnect redirects the user to the registration page to put in their email address.

I hope that helps, but if that doesn't seem to be the cause or still doesn't work for you, please let us know.

Thanks,
Alex
