Good Day

When I try to setup a channel for auto post I can pick a provider and pick the type but when the Attributes open and I try to pick a user there are none listed.
I am not using the login functions as I am using community builder with a few extra selections for the user when creating a login.

Here is what I see when trying to pick a user.

In advance thanks for your help

You'll need to setup login, even temporarily, to allow the admin of the social network area you want to post to to authenticate on your site. Once the user authenticates, they will show up in the channel area and after the channel is setup, they may need to authenticate again to grant additional permissions.

Once the channel is setup though, you can disable the SCLogin module so that no further logins through JFBConnect will happen.

I hope that helps explain, but if you need anything else, please let me know.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks Alex

I did not realize I would have to login through facebook to do this.

The one issue I have now is that there are three of us that will be doing the articles I want to post. How do I give them access to post? one of them does not even have a facebook account.

Also does this mean I will have to do the same to any of the other social networks G+ for instance?

Thanks for your help.

When you set up a Channel, there is one owner of that channel. This is the social network account that will be posted to. If the other two users log in with their Joomla credentials and have the correct permissions for 'Post on Social Network' (found in the JFBConnect backend > Overview page > Options toolbar button), their post will go to the Channel Owner's account. There is not a need to add a separate Social User.

Each social network will need its own channel and the channel owner will have to authenticate for that social network. For instance, if you want to post to a Twitter Stream, you'll need to log in with Twitter on the front-end and then create a Twitter channel with that owner.

By the way, Google+ is not a supported channel type. We allow posting to Facebook Pages/Groups/Profiles, LinkedIn Company Streams and Twitter feeds with our Channels feeds.

I would suggest reviewing our Quick Start Guide for "Post Content to Social Networks" to get an overview of how the process works. But let us know if you need more clarification or help.

Hello again

When I registered on the front end using facebook I linked it to my admin account. I followed the process of creating a channel and got the expected error "
The selected user has not granted the "manage_pages" permission. Please have them login on the front-end of the site and accept the correct permission."So as directed I saved the Channel but I got another error. " Error
Facebook API Error: Error validating access token: This may be because the user logged out or may be due to a system error.
"

I went to the front end and logged in using facebook and was directed back to facebook where I accepted the 2 screens granting Access that came up.
I went back and refreshed but nothing changed the attached shows what I got after refresh - there wereno additional pages.

Any idea where I went wrong. Should I have not linked to my existing admin profile? It has a different e-mail account.

The problem has now been resolved - I had to make some adjustments to the settings of the login module because I am using the CBlogin module. Once I fixed that all is fine.

Once again Thank you for all your help.

Thanks
Gary
