Is it possible with JFB to broadcast from Joomla/jomsocial to a FB business page, as opposed to FB profile?

Yes, JFBConnect can post to Pages, Groups and Profiles for Facebook. In the JFBConnect backend > Channels section, you should be able to add a new Channel with the 'Facebook' Provider and 'Page' Type. From there, you'll need to select the user that's authenticated on your site that is an administrator of the FB page. We'll then prompt you to accept new permissions needed for manage_pages.

Here's our documentation for setting up channels if you have any issues or need a step-by-step guide.

Of course, if you're having issues setting up the channel, please let us know.

Sounds wonderful!!! If SC will work for us in this manor, we will truly plug the heck out of you guys with stunning reviews!
I have to admit, we went to a competitor after having too much trouble setting the SC broadcasting. Obviously a big mistake, as the time wasted there has been substantial!
Your support is better as well, much more personal, which is nice.

So to be absolutely clear. Our members who are mostly businesses, will be able to associate their joomla/jomsocial account to automatically broadcast any of their jomsocial wall/profile posts to the FB pages and/or their FB profile?
Can they setup multiple pages?
Can also setup Google+, now or in the near future? How about Intagram and Pintrest?
Lastly, we also use sobipro, with our current system, new SP entries will also autopost to our JS wall/stream, and broadcast to the FB etc.

Is SC able to do this as well?
If not, then if we have the new SP entries, post to the wall, we could then broadcast to their FB page?

Ease of use for members is obviously very important, is there anywhere I can see this in action?
We are using jfb Version: 6.4.2, will this version work or the initial setup, or are there significant advantages to the current version?

I am excited to hear back, as I need to get on this right away!

Your first question was much broader than your specific use case you just posted. What you describe above is not possible with the current version of JFBConnect.

JFBConnect can post new content created in multiple extensions (new Joomla articles, new events or groups in JomSocial, new K2 items, etc) to a Facebook Page, Profile or Group as well as a Twitter Stream or LinkedIn Company Page. That answers your original question as Melissa noted. However, the way this posting is done is to a FB, Twitter or LinkedIn stream that you (the admin) own and setup in the administrator area of JFBConnect. Once configured, you can broadcast a lot of different content being created on your site to those Pages that you setup. We do this on our site when new blog posts are created and we have a merged stream of our Facebook Page, Twitter Stream and LinkedIn page viewable below as well.

Your second post relates to having users setup their own Pages and pushing content to those Pages that they own in various ways. That's not something we support. That would take a much larger amount of work to have your site manage each persons Page and secure things so user A can't post to user B's Page. It's also something that really isn't ever asked for, so it's not something we plan to implement.

For now, it's much more of a rigid system where you (the admin) define different social channels you own (related to your brand/website) where new content on your site can be automatically posted too.

I hope that helps explain, but if you need any more details, please let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

Hey Alex,
Sorry too much information. in our last post.

We do not need, user A to post to user B's Page.
We just need user A's posts to be able to broadcast to user A's page.
User B's posts to be able to broadcast to user B's page.
etc.

Seems like that would be a common request?

At this point we are able to broadcast all users posts to our pages, as well as members can post to their own FB profiles.
But as many of them are businesses with business pages, they do not want to broadcast to their personal profiles, but their own Fb pages.

possible?

Colin

I understood what you were looking for. It's not something JFBConnect offers. We don't have a way for individual users on your site to setup a Facebook Page that they can post content to automatically.

To setup a Facebook Page the way you state, the user would be giving your FB application, which directly means you (the admin) the permission to post to their Facebook Page on their behalf. This is something that can be easily abused (not necessarily by you, but maybe by other admins). The note of "A posting to B's Page" was just an example of the security measures we'd have to put in to make everything work.

I think what you may be looking for is the simple Facebook Share button. If you put that on the pages of your site that you want users to be able to post to their Facebook Pages they can. The Share popup has a selector in the top right where the user can choose a Facebook Page they manage, or their own profile or group, to post the content too.

I hope that helps give you some background and ideas to do what you're looking for.

Thanks,
Alex
