Hi guys,
I'm building a site using last Joomla 3.6 - Seblod 3.8.4 and JFBConnect 7.2.
I want use Seblod to build a Multi-site using subdomains like domain.com - aaa.domain.com - bbb.domain.com - ccc.domain.com / Multi-language site using the joomla multianguage system, all on same Joomla installation.
So, please:
1 - Can the Social Application (I'm interested on Facebook, Google+ and Twitter) run on domain and also subdomains at the same time ?
2 - With the "Post on Social Network" permission feature you can add other groups to the allowable list to see and use the JFBConnect social toolbar, but, Can I limit a channel to be viewed and used by only selected users? So, for example, all "Manager" user group can view and use the social toolbar, but each Manager, using it, can view and post only on his own channels (the channels the Super User decided he can manage)

Many Thanks for Support

Yes, JFBConnect shouldn't have any issue with this and authentication generally shouldn't have any problems, though if you do, just let us know.

I don't think what you're looking for is possible here. Let me just run it down though.

* You can set different groups that can see/use the social toolbar. When they use that toolbar, they'll be able to post to *any* configured Channels.
* You can't create a channel that is only for certain user groups to post to. Generally, the post to channel feature is meant for any admin-level type person from your site to be able to post, so we don't have granular permissions per channel.
* You *can* setup a Channel to auto-post. This could be associated with a specific category of content, let's say, so that one specific Page is associated with a specific category of content. That may work for what you need.
* For *viewing* the stream, that's done through the SCSocialStream module which uses standard ACL permissions. With that, you could setup multiple Social Stream modules to show specific social streams for specific user groups.

Whew... I hope that helps explain some options to you. I don't think our implementation is as flexible as you probably want. However, if you could explain more about how/why you want to use that setup, it will help us. We're always looking to our users to get ideas on how we can improve JFBConnect with new features and improvements.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,
as always, thanks for the clear explications, so:

1 - ...and, Do you know if, for Facebook / Google+ / Twitter, Can I setup only one Social Application, for each Social logically, to run on domain and also subdomains at the same time ?

2 - Post on Social Network permission features
About Manual posting: Having a field "owners/specific users" on creating a Channel would be a good feature, so, for example, all users in "Manager" user group are allowed to see and use the JFBConnect social toolbar in the frontend, but, when they click on Create Post, if the social toolbar have the "only specified users/owners" channels is selected each Manager will see only his own channels, no more. Not all the channels created as for the Super Admin.

3 - About Automatic posting:
* Ok
* You can't create a channel that is only for certain user groups to post to. Generally, the post to channel feature is meant for any admin-level type person from your site to be able to post, so we don't have granular permissions per channel. = see above about manual posting...
* "You *can* setup a Channel to auto-post. This could be associated with a specific category of content, let's say, so that one specific Page is associated with a specific category of content. That may work for what you need." =

D - Please, about "Autoposting Depending on Content State - JFBConnect logics", Can you explain me more the point 5?: "If an item has a pending auto-post waiting and the publishing date is now in range, JFBConnect will push the post when a) the item is visiting on the front-end or b) the item is saved/republished again in the backend."

Sorry for the delay in response.

1 - ...and, Do you know if, for Facebook / Google+ / Twitter, Can I setup only one Social Application, for each Social logically, to run on domain and also subdomains at the same time ?

Yes, as Alex said you should need one Facebook application for its domain/subdomains, one Twitter, one Google.

No, this is not currently a capability in JFBConnect for manual posting. As Alex mentioned you can set different groups that can see/use the social toolbar. However, when they use that toolbar, they'll be able to post to *any* configured Channels. I can add it to the issue tracker as a potential feature for a future release.

3. Autoposting

Custom Objects - CustomTag Is the ability to integrate articles / categories with Tags ?
B - Please, What is Custom Objects - OG Article ?

We do not currently support Autoposting for Custom Objects. Because items are auto-posted when they are published, JFBConnect needs to listen to when these items are save to know to push them out to the social networks. However, not all of the third party extensions expose these save events in an easy API. The currently supported extensions are Joomla articles, Easyblog posts, JomSocial events and groups, and K2 Items.

C - Is there a way also to customize JFBConnect to only post for certain article Authors ?

This is not a current feature.

You can read about the logic in our documentation about Auto-posting

Hi Melissa,
many thanks for explanations. Please, about:

3. Autoposting

C - Is there a way also to customize JFBConnect to only post for certain article Authors ?

This is not a current feature.

We need these two features, so we'll take a look on them with our developer to have an evaluation. As SourceCoast, Please, Do you have any suggestion on how to do them? Which files? What we haven't to do? ...(here and/or in private message)
Our logical would be to do something with SourceCoast standard's and that SourceCoast can use for all.

3. Autoposting

Custom Objects - CustomTag Is the ability to integrate articles / categories with Tags ?

Please, Do you have an answer to this question ?

I'm sorry, we really don't have any feedback on how to implement the above. For setting up each channel to have a set of groups that can post to it and then showing/hiding those channels in the Create Post popup would take a considerable amount of work to implement. There's an extra column in the database to implement for each channel to specify the group(s) allowed, the selection field in the Channel edit to add that option and the front-end updates to check. It's not just a line of code that needs to be done or we'd gladly help (and implement it ourselves right away).

Without a full evaluation from our end, I wouldn't be able to tell you exactly where to start.

C - Is there a way also to customize JFBConnect to only post for certain article Authors ?

This is the same type of restriction as above and would require a similar modification.

Custom Objects - CustomTag Is the ability to integrate articles / categories with Tags ?

The Open Graph - Custom Object plugin lets you define Facebook Open Graph meta tags for any extensions on your site. It's mainly for components that we don't support. So, if you need to customize the Open Graph tags for another component, you can setup a Custom Object in the Open Graph configuration area of JFBConnect. I don't think that's what you're looking to do though, so I wouldn't focus on it.

I hope that helps,
Alex
