Topic-icon Configuration Troubles for Social Stream

Hello,

I'm very new to this component and having some troubles getting it to work. Trying to build a module to display social streams.

I have setup a Joomla 3x site, and successfully installed JFB Connect.
I have setup a Facebook App, and have it set to public access, as instructed in tutorials.
I have gone through the "Autotune" process and have no reported errors. (all green)

But nothing is appearing on the site.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Could you explain how your channel is set up? Are there any warning messages when you edit the channel? Are you able to see any test stream data in the channel edit area?

If you read the help doc for setting up a channel at www.sourcecoast.com/jfbconnect/docs/post...reate-social-channel there are several troubleshooting tips for common issues you may be running into?

Without more details on what's going wrong with the channel setup, it's hard to help.

Hi Melissa,

Thanks for your quick response!

There are no warning messages on stream … all AutoTune processes show green. And no, can't see any test data in stream.

I tried to follow the instructions you provided, but stuck at Channel Owner step as no list is empty. Instructions say: you will need to authenticate on the front-end using the login button for the selected provider (not Joomla credentials). Then you can refresh your channel to have the list of users re-populated. but there is no Login Button.

Please let me know if you need additional info.

Thanks,
Nick

The quickest way for you to authenticate with Facebook is to

1) Enable the SCLogin module on your front end.
2) Use "Facebook" social network login button to log in once for FB with the Facebook user that is the admin of your FB page.
3) After this user is mapped (you will see it in JFBConnect backend > User Map area), refresh the channel and edit the Channel's owner
4) You will get a prompt that says the user needs to grant the manage_pages permission.
5) On the front-end, log out of SCLogin and re-login with the Facebook login button.
6) Go back into the backend channel and refresh the channel.
7) Depending on how you've set up the channel (to allow posting back to the page for instance), you may need to approve additional permissions.
