Great! I'm glad to hear that worked. I added an issue to our tracker to make that setting more clear in a future release.

Ref the Pages Feed for other Facebook Pages that I liked, is it correct that Facebook does not allow all the feed items to be shown in the same way as the timeline feed on a website (apart from embedding single posts) and the same restriction applies to Interest Lists?

It might be too early for me, but I'm really not following what you mean here. Can you explain this question a bit more? Any examples or links to specific posts in Facebook that you're trying to share may help.

Thanks,
Alex

The timeline shows a feed of posts on my Facebook page and the module allows it to be shown on the website which is fine.

However there is another feed on my Facebook Page (in the left hand column) showing all posts from other Facebook Pages I have liked and i could not find a way to show this feed on the website in the same way as the timeline. I assume this is a Facebook restriction.

Facebook allows Interest Lists to be created by the admin for a page but there also seems to be a Facebook restriction to stop all posts from these lists being shown on a website in the same way as the timeline.

You can see a link to examples of the above 2 feeds in the /social/facebook-feeds/ menu on the website (the timeline feed is now on the /social/ menu.

I just wanted to check if I am correct and the only way to give visitors/members access is via a weblink and not an embedded stream of posts (as in the timeline via the SC Module).

Edit:

If it helps, I know the SCModule allows me to place a feed of posts from any single Facebook URL using the tabs for timeline etc but I am trying to find a way to place a feed of posts from more than one Facebook Page that i like or add to a list (for example all clubs in Florida) in the same way that Twitter Lists allows (Twitter also includes an embed link on the website to allow the list to be used by other websites - see /social/club-lists/).

Your overall description is correct, even if it's not what you want to hear. You can't have one instance of the Facebook Page Plugin show more than one feed. It will only let you show one feed at a time. If you need to show more feeds, you can create more instances of the module to display more, but they won't be all merged together.

On a side note, our Channels feature does let you merge multiple feeds together, even from different networks. However, you need to be an admin of the Facebook Pages in order to get the right approval to be able to display the feed on your site. You can see the SCSocial Stream example below for our Twitter and Facebook streams merged together. Again though, I don't think that will help with what you're looking for either.

Sorry I don't have a better answer for you, but I hope that helps explain more.

Thanks,
Alex

Thank you for the confirmation and additional explanation Alex, much appreciated. If Facebook had a List Module similar to the Twitter Module for their Lists (with the embed feature) it would be perfect, maybe it will happen at some point in the future.

I took the following steps to get as close to a solution as is possible at the moment (Joomla):

1. Add a Menu for Facebook Feeds with Weblinks Option
2. Use Facebook Page to Like all required other pages
3. Use Facebook Admin to create interest lists for required groups of Facebook Page Feeds
4. Copy links to Interest Lists to Weblinks Menu option to create list of links (the /social/facebook-feed/ menu)

Options 4 can also be used in the RSS Feed App option in any Profile witihin EasySocial

It is a bit tedious to set up but it will do until Facebook improve the option.

That's awesome. Good guide of what you did and pretty creative way to get it done. I'm glad you were able to (mostly) do what you were looking for.

Of course, if you have any recommendations or suggestions on how we can improve JFBConnect, please let us know.

Finally, if you haven't already, please consider leaving a rating and review for JFBConnect, or our support, on the Joomla Extension Directory. It's certainly not required, but very appreciated:

Thanks,
Alex
