Hello,

I only care about social stream function. I have firstly installed the JFBConnect and made an initial configuration (the wizard helped me). After adding facebook api, twitter api and etc, now I am trying to display the social stream in the frontend.

I have enabled for a while the facebook login in order to make a facebook login and then setup the specific user to be the Channel Owner. After clikc the facebook login button and make the login on the facebook I get an error from facebook -> App Not Setup: This app is still in development mode, and you don't have access to it. Switch to a registered test user or ask an app admin for permissions.

What I should fix in order to finally make the social stream working?

Regards

Please make sure you've gone through our Facebook Application Setup guide . Specifically, it seems like you skipped step 16 for taking your site out of development mode.

Beyond that, to set up the social streams, you'll need to be able to obtain the manage_pages permission from the user who's Facebook stream you'll be showing. To do that, you'll need to either:
* Login as an admin of the Facebook application. Admins will be able to see any permission without going through the Facebook approval process.
* Go through the Facebook review process for the manage_pages permission and explain why you want to request it from your users. After that, non-admin users of the Facebook application will be able to grant that permission.

I hope that helps,
Alex

Could you please explain this further? I still get message "The selected user has not granted the "manage_pages" permission. Please have them login on the front-end of the site and accept the correct permission.".

The facebook user who manage the page I wish for the social stream logged in via the facebook button of the SCLogin. After I made him joomla super user (in case it needs these kind of permissions) and then I have selected him from the Channel Owner button. What else could be wrong? I still get the error with red letters "The selected user has not granted the "manage_pages" permission. Please have them login on the front-end of the site and accept the correct permission"

The facebook user who manage the page I wish for the social stream logged in via the facebook button of the SCLogin. After I made him joomla super user (in case it needs these kind of permissions) and then I have selected him from the Channel Owner button.

The user needs to be an admin of the Facebook Application to grant that permission. You'll need to make them a admin of the Facebook app, and then have them attempt to authenticate on the front-end using Facebook. That's when JFBConnect will be able to properly request the manage_pages permission.

The other option, if the user can't be made an admin of the Facebook app, is to request approval from Facebook to request that permission from any user that tries to authenticate on your site.. not just admins. To go through the review process, you need to go into the Facebook Developer area and click into the Status & Review section and click "Start A Submission". Select the "manage_pages" and "publish_pages" permissions and explain to Facebook that you want to be able to post and read from Page streams.

I hope that helps,
Alex

After Step 9 (Joomla admin creates channel), the Facebook admin user needs to re-authenticate on the front-end. JFBConnect will only request the manage_pages permission from the Facebook user *after* the channel is configured. So, please have them try to authenticate again using Facebook to see if that works. There should be an additional popup prompt to let the user grant that manage_pages permission during the authentication process.

Thanks,
Alex

ok I understand. I proceeded after the step 9 and reauthenticated again with the facebook user from the joomla frontend site. I accepted one or two facebook windows and then something goes wrong with the redirection.

I'm unsure why that error is appearing. It's not a normal error or one we've seen before.

Can you tell me if you have any SEF extensions installed on your site that may be altering the URLs JFBConnect generates? Also, do you have a firewall or anything else that may try to block or alter incoming requests to your site?

Let us know and we'll gladly help however we can. You're almost there! :)

Thanks,
Alex

I haven't use any SEF extension, but I use Admin Tools in order to take some security measures. I have used the .htaccess maker of the admin tools and use a secret parameter for the administrator backend login.

Do I have to allow any direct access to JFBConnect files from the .htaccess file?

Hello !
I am going nuts trying to get the social stream working
I cannot get any user displayed in the Channel owner list.
I have tried being logged in, from the front end on my website, using the same user name my facebook user, linked to our facebook page.
I have enabled SCLogin , tried logged from the facebook login, and also the standard login.
Its very disappointing such a "basic" feature should be so complicated to setup.

also, when sharing articles from our website, the illustration posted with it is most times totally wrong.

I'm disappointed, I was sure that paying a decent amount of money would propose a easy/efficient link from our joomla website and our facebook page.
I'm not a developper, but geekish enough.
I sincerely hope you can help - and/or let me know how to proceed for cancelling and considering reimbursement.

Thanks !

kind regards

julian
