No Stream Data found was created by picht
Hi

I got a stream working on a website and now i want to make some tests and have installed it on a testsite.
I have made a new Facebook-app as the testsite is on another domain, but now i get this error after selecting the user in the Channel:
the permissions seem to be ok, and i have followed the steps in the documentation.
No Stream Data found.
Channel may be configured incorrectly. Please make sure your channel is published and review settings for any possible errors.
There may be no current posts available from the social network.
Please note, formatting may be different in your admin template, so please just verify if posts are present.

What could the problem be ?

A few thoughts:
* Could you take a screenshot of your channel configuration and add it to this thread so we can see if there are any obvious problems? You will need to upload the file and then use the green arrow to attach it to the thread.
* Could you send the Facebook link for the page or group you're trying to connect with?
* Can you verify that there are recent posts on the page/group? It's possible if they're too old, that Facebook might not be returning them.
* Are the posts on the page/group published by the page itself or the admin of the page?
* Is the page/group private or restricted in any way?

Let us know the above and we'll try to help narrow down the issue.

The posts are shown just fine on this page using channels, so all of the above should be just fine.

Everything looks right from what you describe. I don't have any magic bullet that's going to fix the issue, but here's what I'd recommend, even if a bit tedious:
* Delete the channel you created in JFBConnect
* Recreate the channel from scratch
* Make sure you authenticate on the front-end of your site with Facebook after you create the channel to make sure no other permissions are requested (though that's likely not the cause).
* Cross your fingers that it works.

If not, the cause could be something with your new app that we'd have to investigate. Facebook is constantly updating their Graph API and new apps always use the latest version, currently 2.4. Your 'old' app would be using whatever version was latest when it was created. So, there's a possibility that the new API version has a change we're not aware of, though no other users have reported this and 2.4 has been the most recent for about 1.5 months.

Let us know how the above goes and sorry to make you redo things. It should be a pretty quick process though.

Thanks,
Alex

I have deleted the channel, the user map and the user, 3 or 4 times during my own investigation and have recreated it but with no luck

Yes, the app on the "old" page is using 2.3 and the new one uses 2.4
That seems the ony difference...

Unfortunately i don't have more time for testing - i hope the problem is in 2.4 - that would mean i havent done anything completely stupid :=D

I you find out something please post it here so i get aware of it, thanks

Just wanted to say that we haven't forgotten about this issue. I was able to reproduce this on my test site with a new app and old app. The page posts are fetched properly with the older application, but not the newer one. We'll look into it further and let you know if there's an easy workaround.

Picht,
Thanks so much for your patience. I just Private Messaged you a minor code fix that we've been testing that should hopefully get you going. We'd love to have your feedback on how that works for you as we love to have some 'in the field' user testing when possible before we incorporate some changes into a release.

The ultimate issue deals with a change in Facebook's Graph API as we suspected above. It only affects very recently created apps, which is why it hasn't been caught until now. Thanks for being our guinea pig :)

If you have any questions, please let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

I just sent similar instructions to you on the code fix required for this issue. Please test. We'd love to have your feedback on how it works. We're planning this for the next bug-fix release, but it's always beneficial to have real-world confirmation. The main issues we're testing now is that it's a backward-compatible fix that won't affect users on previous Facebook App versions.

Thanks,
Alex
