I'm currently testing JFBConnect on a website prior to installation on a live site (another domain) and just need to tweakt the following:

I'd like to edit the callback URL for Google
I'd also like to bypass the account creation page but the video tutorial must be referring to an older version of JFBConnect as I can't seem to find the option referred to in global configuration.

I'll also be testing with Twitter and LinkedIn but these two things are stopping me testing unfortunately.

I'd like to edit the callback URL for Google

You can edit the callback URL in the Google Application itself. Please see our Google application setup guide for more details. You can change the domain, but don't change the path that we recommend in this guide.

I'd also like to bypass the account creation page but the video tutorial must be referring to an older version of JFBConnect as I can't seem to find the option referred to in global configuration.

To skip our mini-registration page, please set 'Enable Automatic Registration' to Yes in JFBConnect > Configuration > General. When a social network allows the email address to be returned, the account will then be automatically created without further input from the user. For some social networks, such as Twitter, the email address is not accessible to us so the user will still be directed to our registration page. I hope this helps explain why you may still be seeing the page despite any settings that you've configured otherwise.

Thanks.

The ideal scenario for us would be to integrate the login & register options into the top menu as you have done here, do you have documentation on how that's possible...?

The Login | Register links at the top of this page are from the SCLogin module. Our template has a module position in the top right corner and we use the "Text Link" option in the module parameters to show text links for those options instead of buttons. Then, it's just a matter of styling to make sure it looks right up there.

In short, those links are *not* in our menu but in the module itself.. it just looks integrated into the menu bar.

I hope that helps explain,
Alex

Additionally, you can read the suggestions at our Common Support Questions for "How can i open the SCLogin Modal Popup with a regular link?" The "Add a Menu Item" suggestion is another way to add the links to your menu, if adding a custom position to your template isn't working well.

Thanks for the quick support guys.

As I'm testing on one website and then implementing on another will there be a problem with licensing or anything as I have no intention of using it on the test site anyway.

Nope, you're fine. You can use our product on multiple sites without buying another subscription. We only ask that website developers buy separate copies for each of their clients.

Hi

I don't quite follow this. I tried to lookup profiles of users and got the following error:

Also, when I try and use Google login I get this:

[Edited to remove image with secret key]

Wondering what I am missing...?

1. The plugins needed to show the tabs in the Profiles area are the ones of the 'socialprofiles' type, not our user plugin. For instance, 'Social Profiles - JomSocial' will display a tab there for configuring what profile data is imported into the JomSocial user on registration. To view that data after registration, you would then go into the JomSocial component, not JFBConnect.

2. For the redirect callback, try changing the '&' to just '&'. The social network application setups can be very picky. Also make sure you have the 'Google+ API' setting enabled as described here

Thanks Mel

I tried adding that redirect to the API and no joy.

Strangely I had the SLogin component working perfectly with Google but we though the design too ugly so we had to dig around to find yours.

Feel free to test at the following URL:

No user accounts there will be migrated, it's purely for testing.

I've done this so many times before I'm kicking myself.
