I read a post that suggested I should use "scLogout" as the URL to achieve a web site logout, but it doesn't seem to work.

How can I make a one-click logout menu item?

Please see our Common Support Questions section about that. Hopefully that helps get you going, but if you need anything else, just let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

Thank you, but I read the section you suggested - that's where I got the idea to use "sclogout" as the URL.

IT DOESN'T WORK . The link returns a 404 error (even though I have the Logout Redirection URL set to Home) and the user is still logged in.

For what it's worth, this doesn't work either - I just get my menu item (and it returns a 404 with the URL mysite.com/scconnect)

* Create a new "External Link" menu item
* Set the title to something like "Connect accounts:"
* Set the URL to 'scconnect'
The SCLogin module will detect this special menu item and show the connect icons in the drop down menu. [NO ICONS HERE]

Can you create a test account on your site (test / test) that has access to the front-end only? Then, we can login and see what the generated link looks like and try to determine what's wrong.

Please note that the special link will *only* work when used inside the SCLogin's "User Menu" option. If you're trying to show the menu in a standard mod_menu module, it won't work and will do what you mention above by redirecting the user to /sclogout

Sure - use this URL - and maybe you can tell me why the module has a big button instead of the User Name.

test / Test1234

Edit: I only added the module onto this (test) page.

I can be happy with making the module load like the one on your website if we can't make regular menu links - but you can see that mine looks horrible.
Do I need an extension to be a module container (I believe I read this already...)

I just tried that page, but it looks like the "Offline" page for Joomla.. and I can't login.

Can you try those credentials and let me know if I'm testing incorrectly? Once I get a look at the module, I can help with the other questions above about looks as well.

Thanks,
Alex

OK - I opened the web site and have installed the module into the menu per the tutorial referenced in the documentation.

But - I can't make the top part of the menu format like the other menu items (which are influenced by the template we're using).

I'm so close...Can you help me get the module styled like the other menus?

I'm not sure what the answer is here. Your template has a very nice menu, but it's unfortunately very differently styled that what we do for our built-in SCLogin user menu option.

There would need to be quite a few adjustments to the SCLogin module's template file to fix, and I don't know the mega-menu that you're using, so I'm not sure what those changes would have to be.

For now, all I can recommend is to not use our login module to add a menu to that position. The SCLogin user menu option isn't meant to integrate into an existing menu (though it can), it's primarily for letting you add a new menu to an arbitrary module position.

With the 6.3 (available now), we have a new 'User Connection' page you can redirect users to where they can manage their social network connections. The only thing you'd be missing then is the direct logout menu link which is a nice feature of the SCLogin module, but I don't know of a way to add one in a standard menu item.

I hope that helps even if it's not exactly what you were looking to hear.

Thanks,
Alex
