Hi Alex,
Just took at www.sourcecoast.com/forums/jfbconnect/jf...ppearing-on-facebook
but nothing there is helping me.

The issue is that when I leave a review (using JReviews) the option to share that review on Facebook is missing even though I saw it yesterday when someone else left a review. Also when I look at my review, there is no option to share it on Facebook. See screencast.com/t/bFuTDZsoK
The actual page is goodtalktnt.com/restaurants-bars-limin/1...nk-lounge-and-bistro

The settings seem correct in JReviews. See goodtalktnt.com/restaurants-bars-limin/1...nk-lounge-and-bistro
and the JFBConnect open graph action seems correct See screencast.com/t/MCXQdmxvA

Any idea what I missed?

Thanks for your help.

Peter,
When using the Open Graph Action feature to share on Facebook, there won't be an option for the user to select to post the share to Facebook. It will happen automatically.

As for your JFBConnect settings, things don't look correct there. The action configuration page doesn't have the "Action" setting set (it's blank) and the bottom area for the associated Object doesn't show anything. That means you haven't created an Object for your review pages.

I know you have Open Graph Actions working at one point, but it seems you've undone some of your settings. Can you re-configure it with the proper action and object settings that you've used before?

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks. I think it's set up correctly now. I'll give it a go and see if it's working. I'm a bit confused when you say there is no option for a user to select to share to Facebook because I'm certain I saw a checkbox when submitting a review for something like "share on Facebook".

Peter,
The option for "Share to Facebook" is when you are enabling the JReviews Facebook integration within JReviews. They have the option to automatically post the review as a status update to the users Timeline. While that functionality works, it's not what's recommended by Facebook. Facebook wants users to use the Actions features as those are triggered by 'actions' a user takes on a website. Posting a status update as a user can cause those posts to be marked as spam as sometimes they are unwanted.

I hope that explains more,
Alex

There's a checkbox the user has to check for it to be posted so I'm not sure how that is automatic, but I have a more fundamental question. When it's done via the sites Actions is it that the action—in this case leaving a review—is posted only to the site's Facebook page and not to the user's timeline? While in the other case it's posted only to the user's timeline?

As mentioned above, the "Share on Facebook" box is *not* from JFBConnect. Our automatic sharing does not require a checkbox and is automatically posted to the user's Timeline when configured properly.

When using Open Graph Actions, it's posted to the user's Activity Log in Facebook. From there, Facebook determines how to show it based on many different social factors and it can go into the user's Timeline, news feed, ticker or other areas. You can see when it's been posted by going to your profile in Facebook and clicking the Activity Log link in the bottom right of your cover photo.

I hope that helps,
Alex

Danny,
If you mean the "Post on Register" or "Post on Login" functionality, you can disable that in the Configuration -> Wall Posts section of JFBConnect. If you're talking about some other posting, let me know.

Also, in general, please create a new topic unless your question is directly related to the one you're replying to. It helps keep things more organized around here.

Thanks!
Alex
