Thanks for the info. And, yes, it is seriously complicated! Hard enough to figure out as a user - I CANNOT IMAGINE how you guys learn this stuff, and actually code around it! You guys are GODS :)

I will start working on a better canvas app landing page. That will make all the difference.

Have a great night!!

Hey Alex,

I've been playing around with the "App on Facebook" Canvas urls. I've changed them to point to a specific page on my site, but people are still just redirected to the homepage.

The setting above the CANVAS, is for the Homepage. It has a space for site url, and it says it will ONLY redirect to THIS URL for security reasons. So, I tried changing it to the same url in the canvas app. Faqcebook accepted it, but it hasn't helped. People still only get redirected to my homepage.

Do you have any idea? Can I redirect to another page? Thx

Ryan,
Are you still having issues with this? When I go to your App page on FB, I get a completely different page.. there's a comment box at the bottom and a Facebook Special thing in the middle.

I'm not sure what page or info you're looking at when you say:

The setting above the CANVAS, is for the Homepage. It has a space for site url, and it says it will ONLY redirect to THIS URL for security reasons.

We don't see that in our Facebook Application area for any of our apps, but that stuff does change, so it's possibly rolling out a new look to some users.

Let us know,
Alex

That is the page I built specifically for people who arrive at my site because someone sent them a Facebook request from the module. I don't want people to just be redirected to my homepage, because it doesn't give them a reason they are there. They will wonder WTF happened? Why Am I Here?

I've attached a screenshot of my basic settings for the app. That should make it a little clearer for you :)

Thanks

No screenshot was attached.

I was confused by this line:

I'm assuming you mean the URLs for the request? I thought you wanted to have a special page for people on your Canvas.. since you're talking about Requests, that makes a bit more sense :)

First, make sure you've updated to 4.1.2. There are some bug fixes in there for Requests, specifically the redirection stuff. If that doesn't work, then try without the breakout canvas option, if set.. Then, try setting a different template in the JFBConnect canvas configuration. Just visit your app page, and see if the new template works. That will make sure that JFBConnect is properly detecting the canvas.. if not, that would explain why requests don't work too. Let us know how that goes, and we'll figure something out from there.

Thanks,
Alex

Hey Ryan,
sorry for the late reply.

could you please show us a screenshot of the Request settings (inside JFBC)?
this might help us better understand the problem.

Hello Ryan,
if you take a look at the 2 URL's you've set you see that you are pointing new user (those accepting the invitation) to your home page, and the user who have invited friends (the thank you page) to an internal administrator page (which they might not be able to access).

try changing those two to more suitable URLs, and see of that helps.
