Hey Alex
In testing the Facebook login function I see that it does not work on iOS5. The LinkedIn button does work.
Any thoughts?
Be well (puzzled),

Jerry

Jerry,
Just tested with iPad2 (Safari) on SourceCoast.com and I was able to log in. Can you tell me:
* If you can test on this site and let us know if it works?
* Does the Login popup from Facebook work at all?
* Let us know on your site if you're trying with a new user or a user that's already 'connected' on your site?
* Do you get any error messages when you try?
* Does the page redirect (or reload)?

Anything else you can tell us on how to recreate or test the problem, that'd be great.

Thanks,
Alex

Just posted in another thread about a similar issue. We couldn't recreate on their site either, but hopefully, if there is an issue, we can keep all the posts here and get to the bottom quicker. The other thread (don't post there, but may want to see the post):
www.sourcecoast.com/forums/jfbconnect/jf...5-ipad/iphone#p18344

Hopefully, both of your issues (posted around the same time) were simply a glitch with Facebook as I couldn't recreate it.. but let us know how testing on this site (or others) works now.

Alex

Hey Alex
I tried my iPhone 3GS and it worked. Button appeared normal, login process works.
Tried my iPad 2 on my site (I emptied the site cache and restarted Safari on my iPad), and this is what I see:
File Attachment:

The text is static and cannot be selected.
SourceCoast login responds the same on my iPad:
File Attachment:

If you look carefully, the login text is present, in black. I expanded the page and tried to select the FB login, I could do the LinkedIn and the forgot your password, but not FB. My iOS on both devices is 5.0.1. Your link above is to this conversation. :D But I did find that one.

iOS 5.0.1 on both iPad 2 and iPhone 4s

* Login to my site (and yours) works on 1) computer, 2) iPhone 4s, but not 3) iPad 2
* Failure is the same dimmed text with no link as the other person reported.
* Failure on Sourcecoast is user NOT ALREADY connected, Failure on TB.com is user ALREADY connected
* No error messages, no redirect or reload

Odd because when first reported, login failed on both iPad 2 and iPhone 4s, but now works on iPhone, though still not iPad
* Tried clearing site cache and iPad2 Safari cache and restarting iPad - Login still fails on Safari
* SKYFIRE set to Desktop Mode (new connection)
- login SOURCECOAST works (at least to permission screen) if Skyfire logged into Facebook, but fails to blank screen if not logged into Facebook
- login TB fails to URL with white screen
* SKYFIRE set to Mobile Mode (new connection)
- login SOURCECOAST works (at least to permission screen) if Skyfire logged into Facebook
- login TB fails to URL with white screen

So I grumbled and tried different things and could not find an answer. While upgrading my site, a Joomla 2.5.x with YooTheme template using the latest WidgetKit and Warp from Yoo, I encountered an error. I also have purchased Akeeba Admin Tools. So my latest incremental Yoo upgrade failed. Discovered permission on a php file was too restrictive and set it to 644. Used Akeeba to "repair permissions" and Ding! Yoo upgrade installed w/o an error and so I faithfully tested the mobile and the Facebook Login now appears and works on my iPad2. Whoohoo.
Anyone who has/had the iPad login fail, I invite you to try my site: WritingPractice.com
Aside from a misaligned ad on the very top on iPad, I'm ready to soft launch.
Thanks again to Alex and every user who chimed in to report their findings.

Jerry,
Thanks for the feedback. We've tried to recreate this issue here and there on a variety of Android phones, iPod touches, and iPads (what we have at our disposal) and have been unable too. If we ever find anything, we'll definitely post here.. but if others have feedback, we'd love to hear it.

Thanks,
Alex

Hello and Greetings from Germany.

i had the same problem. Don't show anything from JFBConnect on iOS Device ipad1/ipad2/iPhone.

My Configuration
Joomla 2.5.3 (latest)
Server Windows 2008 R2 / IIS 7.5
PHP 5.2.17 (Plesk) with Version 5.3.10 my site goes to Error 500
FastCGI enabled.

I installed akeba tools and run optimize and security settings well

Can it be problem of PHP Version?
