Azwanz,
To fix the issue, you need to upgrade to JFBConnect 4.0. We've sent 2 newsletters (eepurl.com/eNPtQ and eepurl.com/fRGsr), created a blog post , and tweeted multiple times about the change to Facebook's authentication scheme. Originally, it was required in October by Facebook, but they pushed it back to last week. Now, it's required. You should feel good that it lasted this long, I think, instead of breaking back in October.

We never create JFBConnect to 'break', but sometimes, Facebook's changes cause it to do so. During your subscription period, from 3.1 to 3.2, there were huge breaking changes that occurred to Facebook's commenting system. By staying up-to-date with JFBConnect, you were likely not aware of the changes. This is part of our effort to always add new features while keeping pace with Facebook's changes.

There is no easy way to fix 3.4. It took us weeks of effort and testing to get 4.0 properly using the new system. If you want to upgrade to OAuth2 and prevent your site from running into any other issues, we recommend you resubscribe and keep JFBConnect up to date. We have year-long subscriptions, which are a 15% discount over 2- 6 month subscriptions, and we have another 10% discount if you renew while you're current subscription is still active.

Hope that all helps explain, and best of luck,
Alex

Azwanz,
We've never had any coupons for our extensions. The discounts that are available are all shown when you click into a particular extension. The 15% discount for 1-year is automatic. The 10% renewal price is only valid if you already have an active subscription. Since yours expired months ago, you are not eligible for that discount.

Hope that explains,
Alex

Hi Alex,

I'm actually having the same issue. My subscription is current and I just upgraded to joomla 1.5.23 which I'm thinking may be the culpret. It was working but I didn't check to see if it worked right before I upgraded. Any suggestions for www.ReefID.org would be greatly appreciated!

John,
I just registered on your site, logged out, and logged back in all without any issues. That was using Chrome on a Windows7 computer.

If you're still having issues, I'd try clearing your browsers cache, which would explain why it worked for me and possibly not you if you just upgraded things. If not, clear the Joomla cache, try other browsers, try another computer, or even try a different Facebook user. If none of that works, please let me know exactly what happens (errors, 'nothing when you click', etc).

Thanks,
Alex

I did manage to get logged in from a different computer. The one I'm having trouble with is running ie8. I've cleared all cache and am still not getting it to work.

When I am already logged into facebook and click the facebook connect button, the box where I would normally input my email address and password comes up but it is completely blank and just flashes. Then the whole site refreshes and I am not logged in.

If I log out of my facebook account and try to use the facebook connect button. The box where I input my email address and password comes up, I can and do enter it, the site refreshes but I am not logged into it. I am however now logged into facebook at this point.

Fifer,
Thanks for the update! I was actually in the process of updating (actually downgrading) a Windows PC to IE8 to test.

Should you still have the issue, or run into anything else, just let us know!

Thanks,
Alex
