Hi, i have bought JFBConnect and still testing it on a local site. I am using Joomla 1.5.3 and CBuilder. I have made the CB integration fix.
First i have a problem with the component as the comments in content (my parameters) shows only one time on five or more. I just go to my article and most often the comment box does not appear, but sometimes it does. The connect button in the module is working the same way. Do you have an idea?
Second, my Joomla paramter for logout is # which means same page on logout. I set the same parameter in JFBConnect. Unfortunately when i logout usint JFB module i always have a 403 error. But if i use the CB module, i logout without error. If i do not show the disconnect button in JFB module then the connect button do not show (of course). Do you have an idea not to have error 403 on disconnect?
I haven't found the same problems on the forum.
Sincerely, Philippe

Sorry to hear you're having issues, but I'm sure we can get you fixed up.

First off, I'm assuming you meant you're using Joomla 1.5.23 (not 1.5.3). Also, what "CB Integration fix" did you make? You shouldn't need to modify things to work with CB, so let us know if you did, as that may be part of the problem. The CB Profile Plugin should do everything you need, hopefully.

As for the case of the hidden comments/login button, it's likely that you have the System - Cache plugin enabled. If so, please move it to the last position (highest number). That plugin caches the entire contents of the page, and if it does so before the System - JFBConnect plugin can do it's work, that will be a problem. The other alternative is that you have another Facebook extension installed. If you open the HTML of your page, and search for 'all.js', it should come up only once. If not, that's bad. If you want us to take a look at the front-end of your site, just post (or Private Message) the URL.. we can usually diagnose these problems quickly.

For the 403 problem, we'll definitely need to see the page to figure out what's wrong. That's not an issue we've heard of, but sure we can come up with a solution.

Finally, we just released JFBConnect 4.0, which has quite a few improvements and other fixes. Don't think it will fix the above problems necessarily, but if you just started with JFBConnect, you may want to upgrade to the latest :)

Thanks,
Alex

Thank you for the answer,
You’re right it is 1.5.23.
For the CB integration fix, I meant the fix in your page www.sourcecoast.com/jfbconnect/docs/thir...or-community-builder. Should not have I installed this fix?
My System – Cache plugin is not active and I only find “all.js” once in my page.

Finally I downloaded the 4th version and tried to install it. I say “tried” because I have had an error 403 at each attempt. But I still can install others extensions.
My installation is local (localhost) so I can’t give you access : Is it part of the problem?

I will be glad to submit a review but you will agree it is better for all of us to wait for a solution...
Thank you for your ideas.

Yes, definitely wait on a review :)

Sorry for the confusion on the CB integration fix. No, that's no longer required, and we updated the page accordingly. That was a fix that was required before we put out the 3.4.1 release, I think. All of the things on that page are now implemented in the profile plugin.

As for the 403 error, we've heard of a very few cases where JFBConnect won't install. but it's very uncommon. Please check the following:
* Make sure your /tmp and /log directories are writeable. You can do this in the Help->System Info area and click on Directory Permissions.
* If you are installing on a Windows server, one solution, strangely, has been to unzip the package locally, and re-zip it into a .zip file. There's a few other things we can try as well, but not sure why that happens on some hosts.

If none of the above seem like the issue, let us know, and we can go from there. In that case, also, please post more information about the 403 error.. is there any notice or text? Can you post the URL (domain not necessary) so that we can see what page seems to be hung up?

Thanks,
Alex
