Hi!

Unfortunately this does nit do the trick on our side. I did send you via PM the credentials to our side - maybe you can have a look why it is not working there?

Best regards
Oliver

Oliver,
Sorry for the delay. I just got into look at your site. You look to have made the correct modification to JFBCInvite as mentioned above. However, it doesn't look like the "Enable Automatic Resizing" option is enabled. Can you enable this setting in the module, and I think you'll be good to go then.

Another option, since you have the module on a page by itself with plenty of room, is to update the same line as mentioned above to force the width even wider. Currently, we set it to 740px by default. You can easily open this up to about 850px on the page it's on, and that should work just fine for you.

Hope this gets you all fixed up, but if you run into anything else, just let us know!

Hi Alex,

thanks for the answer. Setting $closedWidth = 850; did the trick. The confirmation box get not cropped anymore! But I'm facing some problems more which you might can help me with:

1. The request which a friends sees at Facebook says "This request has expired". Why ?
2. The request which the invited person can see at Facebook has two buttons one button "Go to mysite" and a "X" button. If the user pushes "Go to mysite" a box opens "You hid a mysite request sent by ...." This is the behavior I would expect at "X"-Button. I would expect to get redirected to mysite.
3. If I'm logged in into my Facebook acoount and go to the side where the Invite module is integrated I often get the message "No FB User Intro Text". Even a reload does not solve the problem. Any ideas on that?

Would be great if you can help me with the above problems as well. Your support is great !

Oliver

Great that its working, better, now :)

I believe the reason the Invite isn't working is because your site is blocked from Facebook with a username/password. Facebook likes to preview all pages that are sent to it's user. Since the invite module lets you put any site in there you want, they want to make sure it's not porn, spam, illegal, etc. I think, though I could be wrong, if you drop the .htaccess password protection, the invite functionality will start working again. Please note that Facebook scrapes pages every 24-48 hours, so it may not be an immediate effect to work as they may have it cached that your site is blocked for a few days.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

Oliver,
I just looked again at your live site and think I really realize what the problem is there. Not sure if this is how the dev site was configured, or I just missed it there too. Your "Invitee Welcome URL" is not a valid URL. It's simply: "domain.com". It should be "domain.com/". This would have the same effect as above where Facebook can't see the page, and say that the request has expired.

Please update and see if that fixes you up!

I have this same issue with the the "this request has expired" thing, I can wrap my ahead around what could possible be wrong. The http is set right, everything seems to be set correctly. But no luck. Could there be other causes of the error besides the request url?

Sure, there are a few ways that the Invite module can be mis-configured. We can gladly help you out, usually, we just need to see the Invite module in action on your page. If you would, please post the URL of the page that you're having issues on. Also, please post from the account you subscribed from. Priority support is for active subscribers only.

Thanks!
Alex
