Topic-icon Facebook as Page does not work with Like module and FB Fan

Support Specialist
Tristan,
Very happy to hear it works! Facebook can be finnicky, but we do what we can to help whenever we can!

For the Like button, you can easily insert it by using the JFBCLike tag. To learn how to use the tags, see:
www.sourcecoast.com/extensions/jfbconnec...ation-guide?start=11

The Fan module currently doesn't have a tag. To insert it into an article, we'd recommend the following:
1) Create a module for JFBCFan and configuring it how you want
2) Set it's position to "article-fan". You'll have to type this into the box, it won't be in the dropdown.
3) Then, using the Content - Load Module plugin (distributed with Joomla, just make sure it's enabled), you can simply type the below code into your article:
{loadposition article-fan}
This will load the module automatically!

Hope this helps, and good luck. If you like JFBConnect and our support, please consider leaving a vote or review on the Joomla Extension Directory. It's certainly not required, but appreciated:

Thanks, and good luck!

Having the same problem.
Facebook Set up = Keith PERSONAL ACCOUNT + Tango Beat (business) PAGE

Facebook PAGES have:
- Account Menu / Use Facebook as Page
- On the page itself "Use Facebook as (Your Page Name)

This allows you to do things on Facebook in the name of your PAGE.

While using Facebook as (PAGE), the JFBC Like and JFBC Comment boxes on my web site go into a "loading" loop. The JFBC boxes don't show up on the web page. They get stuck with the Facebook equivalent of the Mac pinwheel and Windows hourglass.

What would you suggest?

Thank you,
Keith

We're looking into this. Our immediate guess is that this is a Facebook issue, that they'd have to fix on their end. We plan to do a little more investigation and submit a bug report to Facebook (if one doesn't already exist) early next week when we narrow it down a little more.

Sorry for the troubles, and we'll be doing what we can to get to the bottom of this.

Any feedback on things you've tried, possible solutions, or any other information is definitely welcome.

Those of us who manage FB Pages (as opposed to Personal Profiles) would like to be able to push comments and likes to our FB Page. Does 3.2 address this or will you address this in a future version?

Thank you,
Keith

3.2 does not have this feature. We completely revised the Comment and social logic (as you know, from some other issues your having). These improvements are intended to allow more functionality like what you describe above. Already, the improvements allow for new email notifications on comments (and likes), and more control over where the module is displayed.

Our goal with the next few releases (in addition to Joomla 1.6 support) is to start pushing a lot of content back to Facebook. Until recently, we've been focused on registration and pulling information from Facebook. We've got that pretty much down, so the next step are features exactly like what you mention above.

Hope that helps explain our direction, and good luck!

I think you guys are all over thinking this:

1. When you're using fb as your business page you can't interact as much which is why the like button isn't working.

2. The most important part of this The Commenting feature does work. I just tested it. Here's what you have to do:

DON'T use FB as your business page. Navigate to a page that has comments enabled. Since you're an admin you'll have the ability to "Change" who you are posting as. Change to posting as your page. Leave the comment, and it will show on the webpage and also on the wall of your business page.

Works like a charm.

Cheers,

Rich

Just an quick add to this, once you post on the webpage and it gets posted to your business page wall, anytime someone comments on that wall post in facebook it will also be added to the site.

Very Nice...works as expected.

Cheers,

R
