Facebook Connect actually seems to be down right now. When testing (on your page and others, regardless of whether they use JFBConnect), we're getting strange results (CSS showing up in the window, nothing happening when hitting the button, etc).

Once that resolves, please try to clear cookies and try again. The OAuth Token error generally means that Facebook is having trouble communicating with or verifying that your site is the correct 'owner' of the application. We'll gladly help diagnose the problem once things clear up on Facebook's end.

The @unknown.com emails can come from this mis-communication between your site and Facebook OR if you are not requesting the email permission from your users and are using the Facebook Only user option. In that case, we have no way to get their email address, so we make one up.

Hope this all helps, and sorry for the troubles.

The main picture of the config we'd need to see are of the main "Overview" page, which shows the extension version numbers and the Permissions requests. Mainly, when I try to log in via Facebook, here's the permission pop-up I get:

Access my basic information
Includes name, profile picture, gender, networks, user ID, list of friends and any other information I've shared with everyone.

The thing that's missing here is the request for email. Please go to JFBConnect->Configuration in the admin area. Then click the Permissions tab and set "Require Email Permission:" to Yes. This will require users who login through Facebook to let their email be imported into your system. If it's set to no, you'll get the This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. email addresses.

Please test that, and let us know if you have problems. This will only work for new users as we don't update a user's email address when they are logging into the site, just on registration.

Thanks!

Woo hoo! We're happy too. Sorry you ran into so many issues, but glad we got you all fixed up.

If you have any other questions, you know where to find us. Also, if you use JFBConnect and would like to leave a rating or review for the extension or our support on the Joomla Extension Directory , we'd appreciate it. It's certainly not required though.

Thanks again, and best of luck!

Great! We like happy customers. Definitely let us know if you ever have any other questions, or suggestions for improvements once you've really wrapped your head around the full capabilities and possibilities for JFBConnect.

Best wishes,
Alex
