Topic-icon FB Login Button behaves funny (need help urgently)

Hi Friends,

I just recently subscribed to JFB Facebook Connect, and happy with the Facebook integration too. But one very irritating thing is that the JFB Blue FB Login Button
behaves very funny. It appears and disappears on its own will. Its not always there. sometimes I see it and sometimes I dont. I find this inconsistency very irritating (the installation has been done right), as I am going to run a Facebook campaign of my site, so I expect lot of FB users coming onto my site and if they dont see the FB Login button, then I might miss conversions on my site.

Can anyone help me with this please? My site name is www.homeanddecor.in
Thanks

The mystery button is caused because of the Share module you're using. Unfortunately, Facebook has deprecated the share button, and it's incompatible with Facebook's newer (thought 8 months old) Javascript Graph API. For more information on the conflict, see:
www.sourcecoast.com/extensions/jfbconnec...tions#share-conflict

Our recommendation would be to disable the share button and move to the Like button (which is what Facebook recommends as well).

Hope this helps, but if not, let us know and we'll help you figure it out!

Hi,

Thank you very much , I removed the Share button and the FLogin button has stopped its disappearing act.

a) What I have done instead is incorporate the 'Like' button. Can you please tell me how to make the 'Like' button
appear on articles (new and old) because I don't see any way to do that, so I just gave it the top position.

b) One more thing what I noticed is that even after a person logging in through Facebook account, he is directed
to signing up again or register page.. I dont know what I am doing wrong here, but what I want is that once a
person logs in with his Facebook account then he should not be prompted to login again or register. How do I
do this please help.

Kindly let me know. thanks in advance.

a) The JFBCContent plugin should help you automatically add the Like button to all articles. There's parameters that let you configure which types of articles it's shown on, as well as position. In the next JFBConnect release, we'll be adding more features for selecting the category of the articles and other ways to fine-tune it, but it's not there yet. For more information on the content plugin, see:
www.sourcecoast.com/blog/item/102-facebo...-like-content-plugin

b) Yes, that's definitely the incorrect behavior... First, please ensure that the component and the required plugins are installed correctly. You can check this on the JFBConnect Overview page, look at the Extension Check - Required Extensions area. There should be green checks next to the User, Authentication, and System plugins, and no warning about 'ordering of the User' plugin underneath. If all looks good there, send us a URL of your site so we can see what's happening.

Thanks!

Hi,

I have solved the 'Like' issue I was facing, I had not installed the JFBContent plugin, I had just installed the like plugin, so post installing it the problem of 'Like' issue not appearing on articles is resolved.

Please help me with the JFBConnect issue where even after signing in through the FB Login the user is direct to a registration page. kindly help.

thanks,

Shahnawaz,
Glad to hear you got the Like stuff going.

I think what you're looking to do can be enabled by changing the "User Creation" setting in the "User Configuration" tab of JBConnect. Change that to "Facebook User Only". This will set the site up like this site here where the user is logged in automatically without having to create a separate Joomla account or associate it with an existing one. For more information on that setting, see:
www.sourcecoast.com/extensions/jfbconnec...ration-guide?start=4

Hope that helps, and good luck!

Hi,

I did as you suggested but now once the user tries to login through JFBConnect, he gets to see a blank screen rather than get redirected to the site home page :(,
post login through the jfbconnect the browser gives this url www.homeanddecor.in/index.php/component/...k,loginFacebookUser/

and the screen goes blank.

If you're getting a white screen, it means you're running into a PHP error. Please enable error reporting and let us know what the error is. That will help us diagnose and fix the issue. To learn how to enable error-reporting, see:
www.sourcecoast.com/extensions/troublesh...ng-joomla-extensions

Also, what profile plugins do you have enabled? That may also help explain the problem.

Thanks, and sorry for the troubles.

This is the error

"Automatically logging you in with your Facebook credentials
Error
Facebook API Error: Invalid OAuth 2.0 Access Token"

Also I noticed in the system that few users who were registered through JFBConnect their email id
were reflecting as This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it... real email id's were not getting captured.

Please let me know wht could be the problem.
