Sendy Help was created by moscowsteve
So, i paid for the sendy installation.. that, i have been told is up and running... my challenge now- is cant get the emails entered into the NewsLetter Sign up (sendy module) to actually make it onto the list.

So in the module- i have the list ID that i have set up in sendy (Welcome) with into text "Welcome to BrushForGood" - which shows in the module on front page..
people can enter email and subscribe.. just nothing happens (note.. the entire domain has been approved for sendy, so any email i enter with @BrushForGood.org should be allowed. to signup/send emails to).

thoughts on what im doing wrong?

Honestly, no :) I just tested on your site. After I enter my email address, the form goes away (as expected), but never re-appears. It should come back one way or another with a "Success" or "Fail" type message.. yours is just staying blank. That could be because the server isn't responding, a fatal error we didn't catch somewhere, or something else... but not sure off-hand from what I'm seeing.

Can you Private Message me the following:
* FTP credentials to get into your files. We'll need to edit and setup breakpoints to test
* The 'list ID' from Sendy (the 20'ish character string) that should be submitted too?
You can PM me by clicking the mail icon under my name to the left.

Everything else, we should be able to determine from there.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks so much for the credentials. We narrowed down the problem, and it's an easy fix on your end.

Right now, in the Sendy system plugin, you have the Sendy URL set to:
domain.com/sendy

Can you update that to:
www.domain.com/sendy

I have *no* idea why that works, but when we force the URL to that, it works. My guess is that there's an issue with the redirection being performed from non-www to www. Depending on your server restrictions, that could be prohibited and basically causing the request to hang.

From our testing, http:// isn't even required. However, we'd also recommend you add that as well since it's 'more right'.

Please test and let me know how that goes.

Thanks,
Alex

Sooo glad to hear that got you going :) Still not sure what was up with the delay with the wrong address, but it's good to keep that in mind as you're investigating the other authentication issue you reported. It wouldn't be the same issue (we don't just randomly redirect to your site without www during auth), but they could easily be related.

As for new user registrations, enable the User - Sendy plugin and configure it similar to the Sendy module.. just set the list you want new users to be subscribed to when they register.. that should do it.

I hope that helps, but if not, as always, let me know!

And finally, when all is up and running with Sendy, please consider leaving a rating and review for it (or our support) on the Joomla Extension Directory:

Thanks,
Alex

Alex, Yep that worked..
Verified by deleting from the user table and from the sendy list, then a linkedin login.
thanks

Awesome! So glad to hear you've got things going. If you have any feedback on the setup process, our features, or things you'd like to have, we'd love to hear them. We'll be adding some more things to our Sendy integration for Joomla over the next month'ish.. mainly, the ability to support some custom fields, so you could save the user's "Name" into the subscriber list. We're always looking for more ideas though.

Thanks,
Alex
