purplechris,
Unfortunately, no, not really. We know what you mean about locking off access to super admins or certain groups. When we did more client work, it was something we did here and there, though not often. We've honestly never had the request with JFBConnect or JLinked yet in Joomla 2.5 though, so haven't implemented some of the ACL settings required to allow/disallow certain groups.
We don't use the normal 'Options' buttons because when the component is uninstalled, the options are deleted. While you don't need to uninstall to upgrade, many users do.. and reconfiguring again would be nuisance (and likely a support nightmare). Also, our own configuration screens give us a lot more flexibility over the layout and information we can provide for each option. Just letting you know, so you don't think we're just crazy!
Anyways, ACL control is something we'll look into, but won't be ready immediately (obviously). If you really want some code to be able to do it, I'm sure we can come up with something that would restrict access to the whole admin area of JLinked, but that might be a bit overboard. Depends on your clients though, as I understand how too much tinkering could be a problem
Thanks,
Alex
