Hi guys,
because I'm not used to surf into the Facebook cobweb, I'm going to write here to have back from you help and suggestions based on your experiences. PHP 7.3.22 + Joomla 3.9.21 + JFBConnect 8.4.6:

- I had JFBConnect configured well, the AutoTune 100% perfect
- The social logins / map links I had set up (Facebook, Google, Instagram, Twitter) worked perfectly
- I hadn't sent any FB app reviews using just the login part (and maybe I forgot anything else)
- Suddenly I discover that my FB App has been disabled - an image for you
- Investigating I discover that FB sent me an "Action Required" email (moved automatically into my Spam folder) - an image for you
- So, in first of all I checked and, as you can see from the first image, all FB Calls API are updated
- I went to check my Instagram settings and:

1 - In first of all, I discovered to have enabled the "Instagram Basic Display" app that is described here in your documentation, but also the "Instagram Graph API" app - an image for you . I really do not remember when I enabled it. Is it a deprecated App ? Should i close it?

2 - As far as I understand, here an image for you , I should has to submit the two permissions listed in the image before to ask to "appeal" Facebook, Am I right ?
Well, if this is the case, Please, What does "submit" means exactly ? is there anything I need to pay particular attention to?

3 - After that I should appeal the FB disabling following the link. Please, Do you have any experience about it ? Do you know if there is anything I need to pay particular attention to?

PS - All your suggestions, tricks, tips are really too welcome!
Thanks for your attention

1) JFBConnect does not take advantage of the Instagram Graph API. You can disable that functionality.
2) Yes, you'll need to submit for those permissions if you want to use them for authentication. However, Facebook recently changed their Instagram terminology and no long recommend using Instagram as a login provider... they only want Facebook authentication to be used. You can use Instagram's API to get information about a user, but shouldn't be used to let them login directly. Instagram also doesn't provide the email address for a user, so Facebook authentication is better anyways. Before you submit, you may want to consider if you really want Instagram authentication on your site or if you can do with just Facebook. That may make the approval process go smoother.
3) I'm honestly unsure what your app was disabled for. The email says you were disabled because of your "Connect URL". I'd go through your app settings and ensure that every URL/domain setting goes to your site and does not have any 404/broken links.

When submitting for the normal review process (to get additional permissions from a user profile, for instance), it's usually a matter of explaining how/why you want to let the user authenticate (easier access to your site) and what you'll be doing with their profile data (storing in their profile on your site to create a community). The review process talks through the specific steps and it's pretty straightforward, but can take a little time to fill out.

For re-instating an app, I'm not sure what the process is, but if you find any issues with settings, that should make it easier to say "We found problem x and resolved it. If there's anything else, please let us know and we'll fix it too!"

I hope that helps,
Alex

Hi Alex,
many thanks for your quick answer, I'm going to follow your suggestions and I'll report here. About:

1 - Instagram Graph API - I should just remember when and why I activated it... :D
I'm going to investigate and I'll report here for all the people that could be interested to

2 - "...Instagram also doesn't provide the email address for a user, so Facebook authentication is better anyways..."
That's the real problem, we like Instagram because here in Panama (Centre and South America) it is the most used right now, but we are using the Email into the the Username. So, we cannot use Instagram, but would be too useful to "Instagram Map Link" our users.
This is why this requested setting to split "Login, to link / Register, to create" is a must

Keep us posted on #1 above. I just responded to your other thread about your ideas for how to handle registration and authentication.

Thanks,
Alex
