Custom Object

Re: Custom Object

Alexander,
Let's focus on the news.reads permission first before we try to setup others.

I just tried to authenticate on your site with Facebook. I was able to login, but I was not prompted for the publish_actions permission. That is a permission from Facebook that a user must accept before your application can post on their behalf. For testing, you can trigger actions for any user that is the admin of your Facebook application. Once we get things working, you can go through the review process with Facebook to get approval to ask all users that come to your site for that permission.

I can't login to your admin area because there's an .htaccess password requirement as well. If you can Private Message me those credentials and an article that you think should be automatically posting, we can investigate a little further. To PM me, please click the mail icon under my name to the left.

Thanks,
Alex

Re: Custom Object

I was just able to login to the admin area of your site. In there, the Easy Blog - Post object you created had no 'type' set for it. I updated that to be an 'article' type. Then, on the front-end of your site I went to an EasyBlog post. After about 15 seconds, the popup in the image below appeared, which shows that JFBConnect is trying to post the content to Facebook. I don't have the right permissions for Facebook to post since I'm not an admin, but I think you should be able to test now.

Please try and then go to the "View Activity Log" area of your Facebook account to see if the post was made. Hopefully that works and, if so, you'll just need to go through the permission approval process with Facebook so that normal users can grant the publish_actions permission on your site.

Thanks,
Alex

Re: Custom Object

My Facebook User ID that you should be able to add to the developers area is 1251253607.

If you're not seeing the popup anymore, it probably means that JFBConnect thinks the article has already been posted. Try with different EasyBlog articles or set the "Unique Action" setting in the Object Action to "Allow Multiple" so that you can test the same article repeatedly for now.

Thanks,
Alex

Re: Custom Object

In the Social Meta -> Activity Log area of JFBConnect there are error messages next to my attempts:

(#200) Requires extended permission: publish_actions

It seems like you didn't add me properly to the developer area, but the attempt was made.

Can you tell me what shows up in the Activity Log area when you stay in a blog post for a little bit and the blue box appears?

Thanks,
Alex

Re: Custom Object

You're correct. I was added to the app, but didn't see the request in the Developer area.

Now that I can try to post, the Activity Log is showing "Invalid Parameter" as the reason the post isn't making it to Facebook. I'm unsure why that error is happening, but we'll need to dig a little deeper. Can you send us FTP credentials by Private Message to your site so we can add some debug code and investigate further?

Thanks,
Alex

Re: Custom Object

I received the FTP credentials. However, I don't think we'll be able to make any progress until the incorrect Open Graph tag I posted above is fixed. Please let me know when that tag is removed and we can investigate further from there if things still aren't working.

Thanks,
Alex

Re: Custom Object

I'm sorry. I know I typed up a response above, but apparently didn't post it properly.

The tag I'm talking about is:

Code:

    <meta property="fb:admins" content="AKZCBKaPGDM"/>

I can only find that tag on your EasyBlog posts. It's not on the blog listing or any other page, so something about how EasyBlog is rendering articles seems to be adding that tag.

I hope that helps get you going, but if you remove that tag and still have issues, just let us know and we'll gladly help investigate further.

Thanks,
Alex

Re: Custom Object

Can you give me an example of these blog posts which hacet this tag, Alex? Where is it on URL or page, just send me the screenshot or show me this.

Not sure this is tag issue, as I have the same error with easysocial, it suppose to publish the profile seen, I see this message on the bottom hehn Iam on user page, but nothing gets published.

Also if this is easyblog issue, let's try other Actions, like "likes"  now I have only news.read action, you mention to fix this fist and then add others, maybe we can add others, I just do not know what these auctions look like? Can you send me or add them?

Re: Custom Object

Hi Alex, hopw you well, do you have any updates?

You ahve full access to website, ftp. Please fix it, I need this functinality to be workign properly.  Honestly I do ot know which tag youare talking  about, If some tags needs toeb removed, please remove it. If it does not work with easyblog, let's try with easysocil, as I see in logs users profiles should get published as well.

Please keep me posted.

Alex

Re: Custom Object

The tag can be seen in the image below. It's on every EasyBlog article. I can't guarantee that will fix it, but the fb:admins tag is a special Open Graph tag and it looks like random letters are being put in there. Since I only see it in EasyBlog, I'm assuming the setting is in there somewhere, but I don't know EasyBlog well enough to know where that setting may be.
https://www.sourcecoast.com/images/agorapro/attachments/64/mini_akruga-invalid-tag.png

Setting up Like's is something we could work on next, but it should be tested on a page other than EasyBlog articles until that tag is fixed. To set that up, setup the Object that you want to work for some other area of your site and then create an an Action as a "Built in FB Action" of type "og.likes". Then, on a page you can use the EasyTag below to add the "Like" button to your page:

Code:

{JFBCAction id=XX text=Like This}

Alex

Re: Custom Object

It looks like it is open graph tag, not easysocial, posted by fb on open graph postign creation.. not easysocial, below under this I see soem postign for twiter.

I google it ,and this is fb USER_ID tag, here is more info - https://stackoverflow.com/questions/641 … -fb-admins
so this tag is necessary to use Open Graph and post contet to fb! Please fix this functinality.
Here if it might help - >
https://gist.github.com/kraftbj/8873958

And "like" button is separete from easysocial "like" button, I though these are in sync? is it possible to use easysocial like rather than stand alone one?

And another one for objects ->  I see it is only "profile", "blog" and "photo" from easysocial, what cusotm developer objects you can offer?

Re: Custom Object

You're correct that fb:admins is an Open Graph tag. However, that tag is not being set by JFBConnect and the user_id of AKZC8... is not a valid Facebook User ID. I don't know where that value was setup to be that random string, but it's very reasonable that Facebook is throwing the "invalid parameter" error because the user_id set in the fb:admins tag is incorrect.

We support some built-in actions in extensions, but not the Like button in EasySocial. For instance, we support:
* Joomla Content - Vote
* EasyBlog - Rate & Comment
* EasySocial - Upload Image
* JomSocial - A few supported here
* JReviews - Review and List
* K2 - Vote & Comment

If you're using any of those features on your site, we can help you setup JFBConnect to automatically trigger a Facebook action when those events take place. If not, you'll need to use a custom action button.

Thanks,
Alex

Re: Custom Object

I'm glad you were able to remove that tag. The posting now works for me!

When I visit a blog post that hasn't already tried to be posted, it goes to the Activity Log in my Facebook account.
https://www.sourcecoast.com/images/agorapro/attachments/64/mini_Akruga-Activity-Log.png

If you're not seeing the blue box appear, it's likely because you've already visited that article and JFBConnect has tried to post it to your account. It should work properly, as it did for me, for new articles or other ones you haven't already viewed while that bad tag was on the page.

I hope that helps, but if you still have issues, please let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

Re: Custom Object

The Activity Log is all that JFBConnect can post too. We can't force a post to go into a user's Activity Stream. It's up to Facebook algorithms and user preference to decide what shows up in the user's Activity Stream.

In the Activity Log, a user can choose to show a bit of activity in their stream. Otherwise, Facebook can choose to show the activity in the stream if they think it will be relevant to the user.. that could be based on the viewers interests and the popularity of the page itself.

I hope that helps explain, but if you're seeing things shown in the Activity Log, it means that JFBConnect has successfully pushed the action to Facebook as it's supposed too.
