Re: Custom Object

The 'Object Type' field in the JFBC object will need to be filled in with one of the built-in Facebook object types, such as article, and have the 'Built-in Facebook Object' setting enabled. As of 2.8, FB does not allow the creation of a new custom Open Graph action or type. (See the Graph API changelog here).

The URL Query Parameters would be something like the following, 1 per line:

Code:

option=com_content

view=article

The Open Graph tags would be any tags you want to set like description, image, etc - 1 per line:

Code:

description=Test Custom Description

image=http://YOUR_WEBSITE/images/sampledata/fruitshop/apple.jpg

To set up the Autoposting, you'll need to set up a channel and select the Autopost object to be the custom object you just created. I'd suggest following the Quick Start Guide for the "Post Content to Social Networks" section to get started on auto-posting.

Re: Custom Object

Hello Melissa

Thank you for response, but i do not quite get what you mean..

I added EasySocial and Easyblog to the channels, it s clear on new element from these systems I will get update in social.

I do not have Joomla Article (not using this)

There is another option your component offers - > custom objects - > http://prntscr.com/g5o6yc

My question is - How to configure these?

There are 2 params which are configurable  - >

1) URL Query Parameters ( You  said -option=com_content view=article.. but  it is applicable only for Joomla Articles, which you have inbuilt already.. ) , if you can give me an example of non-standard component  like quick2cart which i have or any other, much appreciated!
2) Tags, - > do not get your example.. should it be in tag form like, - . "Car,,ship,transportation.." or smth else??

My initial will is to configure them for products which get published via online e commerce component. If you can suggest how to do it, it would be great!

Thank you!

Re: Custom Object

Alexander,
The opengraph plugins that come with JFBConnect can allow you to autopost specific content from those extensions when they are created. However, if you're using an extension that we don't have a Open Graph plugin for yet, you'll need to post that content manually using the social toolbar at the bottom of every page with the "Create Post" button.

The steps Melissa gave above are for setting up the open graph tags so that each ecommerce page has the Open Graph type or other details you may want set when it's shared. However, there isn't a way in JFBConnect to have content automatically shared if it's not in an extension that we have an Open Graph plugin for (or if your extension doesn't provide an open graph plugin for JFBConnect).

Ultimately, I'd suggest trying the "Create Post" button to see if the content is shared correctly to your Facebook Page, Group or Profile. If the share doesn't look right (wrong title, image, type, etc), then you can use the Open Graph - Custom plugin to setup special open graph tags for each of the ecommerce items you have. There likely isn't a way to have it auto-post though since I'm assuming your ecommerce extension doesn't have specific open graph support for JFBConnect.

I hope that helps explain,
Alex

Re: Custom Object

Thank you, Alex, I still in the process of understanding, not quite clear for me..

So I tried to create standard action on Easyblog comment action (inbuilt plugin)
I got hte following error message - http://prntscr.com/g71vno

While facebook is properly set up and Iam able (other users too) to login with facebook. Not sure why is it asking for autotune???
Also There are 3 only social networks for channels set up, fb, twitter and linkedin, is it possible to add vk, as that majority of my users are loging in with vk?

Re: Custom Object

That error means you need to go to the Autotune configuration area in JFBConnect. In the FB App section, hit the "Refresh" button so that JFBConnect fetches all the data it needs to know about your FB application in order for Open Graph tags to function properly. Then, you should be able to setup the Action properly.

We don't currently support VK. I'm unsure what sort of channels they expose by their API. Can you let me know more about what kinds of actions you'd want posted and an example page from VK that they'd go to? It's something we can investigate, but I can't give any estimate on when it may be implemented.

Thanks,
Alex

You have entered the User ID instead of the subscription ID. To get your correct subscription ID, log in here on sourcecoast.com and navigate to My Account > My Profile. The subscription ID is on the righthand side of the page.

The same as facebook, as it is identical to facebook.
The same type of actions (I Am not too robust in sourcecoast)

Re: Custom Object

The different Facebook objects are defined on this page under "Object Types":
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/re … bject-type

For Joomla, the most common is "article".

All objects you use should have the 'Facebook Built-In Object" box checked since Facebook doesn't allow custom objects (your own defined objects just for your website) to be created anymore.

I hope that helps,
Alex

Re: Custom Object

Thank you,

So n on easysocail actions or easyblog actions, I do not see any postion if I'm reading the article form easyblog, should it trigger it?

Return back to VKontakte, should be possible to add it to the existing channels?

Re: Custom Object

To trigger an action that you're reading the post, you will need to create a custom action with the following:
* Action "news.reads"
* Built-in FB Action - checked
* Automatic Actions - Action Type should be set to On Page Load
* Appropriate object associations for your posts

Re: Custom Object

They're likely not registering with social network credentials, but instead using normal Joomla registration. JFBConnect has nothing to do with this and it's a common problem in Joomla. There are existing tools and extensions to help with this, such as Captcha during registration. On our sourcecoast.com website, we use an extension called SpambotCheck (found on the JED) to help with this.

Re: Custom Object

That would be very unique. Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do about this as Facebook does it's own policing for users and generally is very good at preventing fake / spammy accounts from being created.

What stats are you talking about? Specifically, I'd recommend going into the JFBConnect -> Usermap area and confirming that the accounts you think are spammy are listed in there. Again, there's not much we can do, but I'm a bit surprised if you're getting a large amount of social network logins that are spammy.

Aslo Alex mentioned that you are going to add vk channel, could you please advise when it is due?

This is on our to-do list for investigation and implementation, but we don't currently have a timeline for it's release.

Thanks,
Alex

Re: Custom Object

Can you explain how you set things up for the autoposting to your account when you read your blog?

I'm assuming you're using the Open Graph - Actions feature. If so, you should be able to see what JFBConnect has tried to post in the Open Graph - Activity area in the admin section. When JFBConnect auto-posts that to your feed, it goes into your Activity Log. That doesn't mean it will show up prominently in your feed. You can view your full Activity Log when you go to your Facebook profile and click the "Activity Log" button.

Facebook has greatly decreased how often it will show content like "Read an article" on an actual feed because it considers that much lower value that a user going out of their way to actually share a blog post.

I hope that helps explain,
Alex

Re: Custom Object

Hi Alex,

Activity log is empty, it is clearly does not work. I have attached the screenshots from Action and Object settings.
Please let me know how to fix it, as I am not quite sure what I have done wrong.

Re: Custom Object

1. From your screenshot, your object type is empty in the JFBConnect backend > Social Meta > Objects area. You need to set a type. You can use "article" and make sure the built-in FB object stays checked.

2. If you're trying to have the action that an article is read, then your action field in JFBConnect > Social Meta > Action needs to have "news.reads". You currently have it as blank.

Try those two changes and let us know if the behavior continues.

Aslo i was able to see activity log from Graph, but I still do not see any publications on my facebook page (I check all my history not a single publication

Re: Custom Object

Please switch the 'Action Type' from Manual to Automatic. Also, uncheck the 'Explicitly Shared' and 'Tag Friends' in the Capabilities - Those aren't applicable for news.reads. Try these suggestions and let us know the new behavior.
