I am using 6.2.4 and EasySocial.

Error Message 1
When trying to log in with Twitter or Facebook buttons, I get the error message: "You are not authorised to to view this resource." However, I am logged in correctly.

Error Message 2
When logged in and going to EasySocial -> Edit Profile I get this very long error message: "There is an error retrieving your Facebook details. Facebook returns an error message of: "Error validating access token: Session does not match current stored session. This may be because the user changed the password since the time the session was created or Facebook has changed the session for security reasons." Everything else appears to work correctly.

When trying to log in with Twitter or Facebook buttons, I get the error message: "You are not authorised to to view this resource." However, I am logged in correctly.

I suspect that you have the New User Redirection and Returning User Redirection options set to Same Page. When I go to your home page and click the Login page, I am brought to the /connect/login-form page. After creating an account or logging in again from this page, I receive the error that you are having above, but am also correctly logged in. The problem lies when I go back to the /connect/login-form page again while logged in. This is not permitted on your site and I get the not authorized message again. The permissions on this page do not seem to allow registered users, so 1)please check your permissions for this page or 2) update the New User/Returning Redirection settings to a different menu item, such as the /connect page. Please note, when I attempt to login via the Facebook button on the /connect page, it works properly with no error and I am also able to visit that page when logged in, further pointing to this being a permissions issue.

The user needs to re-authenticate on the site. If you're still receiving the error after re-authenticating then please let me know.

Let me know if you continue have issues after these suggestions.

Hi Melissa,

Thanks. Message 1 is now gone after users redirect to the community page on logout/login.

How does a user re-authenticate?

To re-authenticate, you should be able to log out and re-log back in with the Facebook button. If the error still persists after this, please let us know.

Hi Melissa,

I have tried logging in and out many times but the error still persists. Try it yourself: login with Facebook and then go to My Accounts -> Profile -> Edit Profile.

I do not see this error when logged in via my Facebook user. This error is tied to your user and your FB token.

Talking to Alex, we don't do anything on the Edit Profile page. Can you verify that you have the Facebook integration settings in EasySocial set to only use JFBConnect for Facebook and all of the other Facebook integration is disabled please?

Hi Melissa,

Well I imagine I have the settings correctly set up. However, the problem still persists.

Can you tell us what your settings you have configured in the EasySocial Facebook configuration area? Our only guess is that EasySocial is trying to make some connection to Facebook on that page, but we're not sure why that would be.

Other things to investigate or answer that may help:
* Did you ever use EasySocial's Facebook integration? If so, did you authenticate using Facebook with the user that's currently having issues?
* Are there any other social widgets from JFBConnect or any other extension that show on that page (News feeds, Like buttons, etc)?
* Please test with a different user that authenticates using Facebook to see if the issue happens across multiple users.

Let us know the answers to all of the above and we'll help however we can. Again though, what you explain does not sound like a JFBConnect issue.

Thanks,
Melissa

Hi Melissa,

I tried a different user and I did not get the error message. So you were right in thinking that this is somehow tied to my login. How to fix this? I also placed a support request on the StackIdeas forum.

Let us know what ideas StackIdeas come back with. Again, we don't think this is a JFBConnect issue as it is not occurring when you are authenticating with Facebook, but instead while you're navigating your site (which JFBConnect wouldn't be trying to navigate with Facebook at that point).

Also, I'm not sure what version of EasySocial you're using, but poking around the configuration options for the latest version 1.3.13, there are more social options than just in the Settings > Facebook section - for instance Settings > Stream > Enable Social Bookmarks. It might be looking around throughout all of the EasySocial settings to see if there's something else that could be contributing to this.
