How can I edit the words, "Log in" and "Register" to be something else in JFB Connect?
(ie: Login, Log In / Sign Up)

This is accomplished by editing the com_jfbconnect language file. The top section should have all of the Login and Register keys. Additionally, there may be some language strings (MOD_SCLOGIN_LOGIN and MOD_SCLOGIN_REGISTER_FOR_THIS_SITE) that you should update in the mod_sclogin language file if you're using this module.

I do not see a language file in either the component or module folders.

No, there are not in the component or module. They are in the standard Joomla location for language files: /language/xx-YY/xx-YY.com_jfbconnect.ini and xx-YY.mod_sclogin.ini where xx-YY is your language code.

A lot of these two files are written in Russian.
I changed this:
MOD_SCLOGIN_REGISTER_FOR_THIS_SITE="Зарегистрироваться"
to this:
MOD_SCLOGIN_REGISTER_FOR_THIS_SITE="подписаться"

I'm not sure if this is correct but the Register link in the SC Login module (modal popup / text) has not changed.
Please help!

If the value still shows the previous value after you update it, caching is likely the issue. Beyond that, make sure you're editing the proper language file. So, make sure you've cleared your cache after you make any changes.

There are also many different strings with similar values, so ensure you're getting the right one.

Finally, you can also use the Joomla language manager to implement overrides for strings as well. Those overrides will take effect after you update the module as well.

I hope that helps,
Alex
