Hi
I successfully configured SocialStream with a Facebook channel. However the Social Stream channel works with groups and lists all available groups in FB but does not show any available pages.
What do I need to do to show my postings in Social Stream Module in Joomla?

Regards

Cedric

To show both Facebook Pages and Facebook Groups in one Social Stream module, you will need to create two channels in the backend (one for groups and one for pages). Then you'll be able to select both to display from within the SCSocialStream module. It should be as simple as that, but if you run into any difficulties with this working, please let me know.

By the way, when configuring the channel for a Facebook Page, the only pages that are displayed for the selected user are the ones for which the user is an admin.

hi mel
Thanks for your reply. The only thing I am trying to achieve is to view my FB postings on my website. I am logged in as the Facebook user and I cannot figure out on how to configure JFBConnect to show my postings in FB.

I am able to show Groups if I switch to pages no page can be selected. Is there something I need to configure in Facebook?

I want to show all the FB postings on my website inside SocialStream Module. How do I do that?

Regards

Cedric

We're working on improving the Channel configuration for the next release, as 6.2.3 isn't quite so intuitive and could be causing some of the difficulties you are having.

In the meantime,
1. Make sure after you have selected pages as the Channel type that you hit the Save button.
2. Re-select the user and hit Save.
3. If there are any warnings displayed (about user needing to be authenticated first or permissions needing to be required), you will need to fix them before being able to select a page.
4. After there are no warnings, you should be able to select the available pages. If you get to this point and there are no pages in the list, please make sure you're using the correct user who is an admin of the page. JFBConnect also does not show personal feeds in this list as well.

Let me know if you still have issues after trying the above steps.

Hi Mel

The key was that "JFBConnect also does not show personal feeds in this list as well."
I created a page and it listed. However why doesn't allow JFBConnect to show personal feeds.
I have a company account from which I want to show all personal feeds.

Is there a way to configure that?

Regards

Right now, our Channels features only support Facebook Groups and Pages, Twitter Streams and LinkedIn Company Profiles. We'll be adding more channel types, like personal Facebook Timelines, in a future release.

Do you have experience using www.facebook.com/pages/create.php?migrate Migration Tool from Timeline to a Web-Page? Does it work with your component?

Once you migrate, your "profile" will be a "Page" and JFBConnect won't ever know that it was a profile previously. You shouldn't run into any issues once you're using a Page.

I hope that helps,
Alex

Will you be adding Google+ feeds as well. Do you have a time frame?

We have this in our tracker for issues to investigate, but I don't have a clear timeframe on it right now.
