Hi,

I am using a large number of extensions on my site. The main one's are Jomsocial, Easyblog, Easydiscuss and JReviews. I've noticed that in each extension if you try to access restricted content then it will present you with a dialogue box for registration. At the moment, most of these dialogue boxes don't contain the JFB Connect Facebook login button. One of the dialogues contains a Facebook button, but it is from the Gavick template, not JFB Connect - and it doesn't currently work.

How can I get JFB Connect to fully integrate across all my extensions - this is really important to resolve.

Many thanks,

Eric.

Eric,
Unfortunately, there's not a quick, easy answer for this. The login popups that each extension uses are created by the extension itself and will usually just show the standard Joomla login fields. There isn't any way for JFBConnect to automatically add our login fields to other extension's login forms as each one is different and there's no standard method to add the buttons.

Some extensions, like JomSocial and EasySocial have options to automatically the JFBConnect login buttons to their login forms. We wish all extensions provided such an option and recommend contacting any developers to let them know you'd like that as a feature.

With that said, there are a few things I can recommend on how to add the buttons:
* Edit the login template files for the popups and simply add {JFBCLogin} where you want our login buttons to show. There are plenty of additional options you can use in that tag for custom images or showing only a select few providers, if you don't want to show them all. If you need assistance with that, just let us know.
* Some extensions have an option to redirect to the standard Joomla login page, instead of using a popup. Use that option, since JFBConnect will automatically add our login buttons to the standard Joomla login & registration pages
* Disable the Facebook integration in Gavick. It will cause multiple conflicts with JFBConnect and should not be used at the same time.

I hope that helps, but if you need anything else, just let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi,

OK - I think the best approach will to be work through extension by extension. Let's take what should be the easiest one first - Jomsocial. I would like you to try this please and let me know why it is not working.

Visit the homepage of my website at www.rurallondoner.com

On the right hand side in the Latest Groups module, click the link 'view all groups'. This content is restricted, so you will be presented with a login dialogue box. The box has a 'Login with Facebook' button that doesn't work. It looks like the button from the Gavick template, not the button from JFB Connect. I have not enabled Facebook integration in the Gavick template.

Since this is Jomsocial content that is restricted, should this not just work with JFB Connect? Is there anything wrong with the way I have this configured?

Many thanks,

Eric.

In JomSocial, there is a setting for "Integrate with JFBC", or something like that, in their Configuration -> Facebook area. Make sure that is enabled. With that, JomSocial will show our login buttons in many areas of the site, including the main home page and some login popups. It's possible they missed some spot to do that though, so you'll need to determine if that's the case. If so, you can edit their template files to add the {JFBCLogin} tag wherever it should go.

If you don't know the file to edit, you'd need to contact JomSocail tech support to let them know what view you want to override and why and hopefully it will be pretty easy from there.

I hope that helps,
Alex
